Pull a pin and make the train go into emergency, or hang an EOTD on the rear.

Can one hop/teleport straight to the end of the train and back to the front? Walking a 2 mile train to set the EOTD and back to the cab is not what I am looking forward to.

Do one at night with headlights and running lights switched on. I'm curious.

This is ready to go up the pipe tonight. As for hopping to the rear, you can with the "2" camera but I don't know about teleporting to the back. I never tried pulling the pin either. *!embar*!

From the Twitch session, DTG showed the addition of TS2017 Camera 2/3 front and rear train views. Don't know if the Camera move also moves the "player" to that location.

We'll find out for ourselves tomorrow. I am assuming the Twitch was to show off all the clever new features, aiming at a single player first person operator immersion?

Setting up a train from cold is nice for once, but is rather time consuming, taking away valuable leisure time most people rather spend running trains.
Run8 has a cheat mode to set up your train ready-to-run without going through all the hassle of fuelling, opening doors, flicking switches, priming, starting, putting an EOTD on the rear end, flicking more switches in the cab, waiting for the brake pipe to fill up at the EOTD, etc. etc.

Generally the aim for realism and the necessity for practicability converge after a few service packs.

Most of the trains you select from service mode are already up and running. Only by the turntable, that the locomotives are off.

Edit: Here's the nighttime video. I left the FPS counter up so ya'll can see how it runs.

Thanks, was that hi or low beam ? things looked a little dull !*don-know!* . Regardless though, it's better than TS so that's a plus ... UE4 environment lighting is sweet. !!*ok*!!

FPS seemed OK, what's your system specs ?

I noticed your FRs were in the 20-30 range. Have you locked FRs in game? What CPU/GPU are you running. for comparison? My specs below.

Capped at 60, doesn't reach 60 *!lol!* But it runs very good at 30.
My system is more or less about medium. I'd love to see how a 1060 handles the game.

Intel Core i5-4690k 3.5ghz
EVGA GTX 960 SSC 2GB
8GB RAM
Windows 8.1 64bit
2x 1TB WD Black HDDs

Let me know, I was thinking of getting a 1060.

I think buzz was complaining (in advance) about people complaining... lol. My take: if you aren't interested in TSW or initial thoughts, comments, etc, don't read the threads.

Meh. Some interesting things with physics. I took a train of maybe 30 cars, shoved it down to the end. Then ran the train twice doing over 55mph. First 10 cars were loaded.

1st: 60mph Emergency Brake on flat ground. It took 35 seconds to bring the train to halt.
2nd: 55mph 10 psi set. It took 1:20 to bring to a stop.

From experience, a 13000 ton train took about a 4000 ft to stop at 10 degrees. The train was 6100 feet long and our grade was mostly down hill.

A signal dropped from clear to red on us because of a snow plow so we brought it to a stop with multiple service reductions to 15 psi max and maximum dynamic brake output on 3 GE ES44C4s.
