Check out that Kuju horn from circa 2008... talk about laziness, wow.

Aren't you excited about being able to install decontamination showers in the game? Another laughable effort from DTG.

Sounds like they've reused the 567 sounds for the GP9 as well. Ugh. Disappointing. !*not-ok*!

Since the GP9 has a 567C prime mover why would it not have these sounds?

I agree, if the sound samples in question are of good quality and represent the real thing pretty well. I know nothing about what a real 567C sounds like so I'm in no position to judge. At the very least, hopefully they did a good job of using FMOD (the sound engine they use for stuff like occlusion, reverb, etc) to enhance it a bit. The horn though is pretty sad. It's shocking DTG still has trouble recognizing, at the very least, a horn with a bad loop in it.

I know there are some third party horns out there for TSW though not many, is anyone aware of an M3 which I believe would match the prototype?

First impressions... not bad. Completed the training sessions this evening. Locomotives handled good, although the train brakes seemed to grab hard. Used the locomotive brakes for all the switching. I didn't mind the recycled engine sounds, but what did catch my attention was how when the engine rev'd up, the sounds seemed slow and a little stuttered. The horn sound... well that just needs to be retired to the great horn graveyard. To have such good looking locomotives, and have a horn sound that bad just doesn't fit. I hope either DTG or some enterprising "Searchlight" type will come up with the proper horns for both the GP9 and the GP38-2.

On a positive note, while I was going through the ethanol loading session, a freight passed by on the main track with... CSX cars. So there is the potential for some car variety. While the training sessions had all the same CN or DTG reporting mark cars, I'm hoping the timetabled sessions will have more of a mix. I think that is the one thing DTG needs to do with these freight routes is provide more car variety, either through the initial route sale, or through add-ons.

So this route will be a keeper, and I'm looking forward to exploring / switching the rest of the route. It has great potential, and I hope DTG continues to expand it. I'm a fan of the CN, as they run a first class operation out here in Iowa. Glad to see a Canadian route... especially a CN route... has joined the TSW portfolio.

On a side note, again... the GP9 and GP38-2 used in this route need to be released for Train Simulator 2020. They would fit perfectly on the Peace River route, or the Chicago Racetrack as transfer power.

The 567 sounds being used in this DLC are way outdated; they date to the release of the GP9 and RW3 update of the F7s circa 2011. Cmon DTG, you know better. You guys did it pretty well with the Caltrain DLCs.

Hey, If DTG were to go out and record new sounds for every new release of DLC you might find that your DLC could be a bit more expensive so it is a lot cheaper for them and the end user you. You don't get anything for nothing you know.

I don't think people would complain about paying a bit more for proper sound. There's a reason a market exists for us to make enhancements..

Actually the 567 sounds are some of the better ones out there. Why they can't make decent horn though just amazes me. I don't have a stock horn on one of DTG locos that I run at all.

Absolutely agree. I would gladly pay a premium if the route included locomotive sounds by Searchlight, and rolling stock sounds by Krellnut. And if Searchlight offered sound enhancements for the TSW routes, that would be a no-brainer buy. !!*ok*!!

Yeah, I wish I knew how to replace horns in TSW, the first thing I do on most DLC purchases for TS2020 is replace the horn and bells.

OSD is nice, for what it is. Sand patch is a snooze fest for me, this feels like youre actually getting sh*t done

Similar to freight activities on NEC but much, much more.

The areas paid most attn to are absolutely the ford assy plant and the ethanol loading areas. The bits of lesser used non polished tracks are also a lovely touch

Yes, the engines themselves look phenomenal, but the sounds as always are flat, empty, skippy just plain quiet - namely horn and bell. Nothing sounds like its got depth, no bassey oomph **!!bang!!**

I like the route and for once in TSW as of late, i cant wait to go back in it

If anyone has instructions to replace horns in tsw (ive heard talk of use with csxHH beta horn sounds)... pray tell
