I may have somwhat misunderstood what Matt was saying but when asked why the executable was called TS2Prototype he was quite clear that it was related to the initial name given when work started on TSW and that it would take a lot of work to change. I must admit I assumed he was talking about the project name but perhaps it's something else.

I'm not. :D

What Matt told you is what I believe to be nonsense. The EXE name can change since it points to everything else and not necessarily the other way around.
Cheers!

DTG is continuing to dumb down the graphics and calling it"optimization improvements "in pursuit of meaningless frame rate numbers. With settings on ultra ,the wonderful rock outcrop textures with photoreal lichens have been blurred out of recognition.Even the steam forums are beginning to notice. At this point I will never buy any DLC for this game. They should change the name from Trainsim World to TS 2017and 1/2.It's a real shame, very disappointed with this sim. !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*!

I'm pretty sure nothing has been taken away from Ultra.
If you can show me examples I will certainly look into it.
Having said that We have been through a number of materials that may have been out of kilter with surrounding assets.

Fidelity and frame rate are often at odds with each other, but our aim is to make sure that where the detail matters it is never compromised.

Those are good images of the TSW EOT. Based on my experiences, I imagine that you snapped them at the very beginning of some activity or other (scenario, session, etc.). For me, the next time I look at my train's last car, the EOT is gone. but I know that the TSW team is working on this.
