Ah, we usually get it first, since Steam is in the US.

DTG's $39.99 pricing of TSW: CSX Heavy-Haul (about the same as the cost of a TS route package) and its being based on a single route, the Sand Patch, makes me wonder whether this new railroad SIM will ever expand into something like TS, with multiple routes that bring with them lots of assets. Limiting each iteration of TSW to a single route might also keep the overhead and the equipment needed to run it contained. If I'm wrong (and there would be nothing new about that), I'm sure I'll be told so firmly and quickly. For now, I'm not shoveling more dough into my computer until I've run TSW.

So which youtubers you think will cover it for release day? I'm thinking the usually MattP, Squirrel, and maybe NerdCubed.

Not to be a "Brown-noser", but your videos of TSW so far, are excellent and very well done. There were a few from others that I had to turn off as they had no idea of what they were doing and constant ridicules chatter through out the video. I personally would rather hear engine and freight car sounds, !*salute*!

*!embar*! thank you. I probably will have something for release day, not sure what I want to test out. I'd probably test the AC44CW or something.

Me too. Why go with a crappy "60" business card again? You're better off saving for a gaming card "80" even if it is a 9 series. The 980 blows a 1060 away.

Check out gpuboss.com . You can compare any video cards.

20% of or not, I just cannot make myself pull the trigger on this. I was already signed into Steam and was about to click the "Confirm" button on PP, but I just could not do it. Not having an asset editor ready to go, and getting the same ole tape recording every time I ask how and when we are going to be able to put our own stuff into the game is huge turnoff. Crickets make me jumpy - if someone can't be forthcoming with information, I will start digging into the program and finding it on my own. And as Dan can tell you, when I go doing things on my own, things get ******d-up real quick like.

I just have to put in my **!!2cents!!** worth here. I've been reading everyone b**tch and moan about TSW:CSXHH and how it doesn't have this feature or that and how it's just being released as a single route, or is it going to have steam power, will it be multiplayer, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam. From everything I've read (and I believe I've read almost everything that's been OFFICIALLY released), the only thing that is surely NOT going to happen, at least at first, is MP. For my purposes, this is not a deal-breaker as I find I enjoy "flying solo" more than competing with others online. That's my preference and no one can tell me that it's wrong. There has been nothing to indicate that there will NOT be more routes, motive power, or rolling stock. I choose to believe that there is MUCH more in the works for TSW, I just have no way of knowing that for certain.
All this being said, I HAVE pre-ordered the route as I'm very interested to see if they've optimized performance from the beta (which I DID run BTW), and I also believe they (DTG) are very interested in POSITIVE feedback from the community regarding how it operates on the myriad systems it's going to be loaded onto at the outset. And "positive feedback" doesn't mean we give only glowing reports but that we be honest and specific in our opinions and respectful in the manner in which we communicate. Do I expect a 100% problem-free rollout? No, of course not. But I AM expecting to find out for myself if the immersion that seems apparent in TSW is something I want to continue to work with. The beta certainly left me wanting more in the performance area, but as far as the experience is concerned I want to lose myself in it for several hours, learning and running all the new toys.
Pre-ordering with a 20% discount makes the decision a little easier if I don't find it as enjoyable as I hope it will be, but none of us will KNOW until it's released (six days from today!) and try it for ourselves. Pre-judging instead of pre-ordering seems like a lot of wasted words.
My (not so) humble opinion. Feedback welcome, just please be civil. !*cheers*!
Best,
M.

The posters over at trainsim.com have the same worries.
http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?326767-Pre-order-CSX-Heavy-today-and-save-10-or-20

Mark that since the death of Ottodad is has been very quiet there, but many of the credible posters in the above thread are creators and are very reasonable in their argumentation.

Our playroom depends entirely on the EULA, DRM of DLC (allowing default assets to be re-used), UE4 licensing when you create independent content (for money aka Marketplace?, for free??), and the availability of tools and documents on how to do all this.

I think basic scenario creation tools will come early, but content creation/route building might be an entirely different thing. Perhaps to the point of ruling out rolling stock repaints and modifying default routes, like putting an extra tree here or there?

Perhaps a separate creators kit will be available for sale to those inclined to creating later? It will make the total product less costly to the average player of ready-made routes and trains. (Read XBox/Konsole Kiddies here)
I can imagine these coming in small version (route creation using pre-supplied assets packs the player needs to buy to run the route) and large version (complete asset and rolling stock creation)
But what about UE4 licensing fees, who's going to collect these?

AFAIK, several noted commercial creators outside the UK do not seem to be included in the inner circle of DTG's partner program yet,
