Sound is awesome.

You....say you work for the railroad.. I have a hard time believing you've been around any of these prototypes if you think the sound is "awesome."

More like 6/10, B- , must do better, IMHO.

Bob doesn't want us being negative and I'm quite down with that feeling that more will get done if we raise issues and bugs in an objective and polite fashion (maybe infused with the odd whimsical aside) but threads like this aren't going to help the cause either. There are certain things DTG do need to look at, starting with the optimisation, physics and indeed the sound quality as others have mentioned. They are simply items that need to be addressed if they want to sell this game outside an inner circle dance and sell DLC or new route packages to those who bought in and resisted getting a refund.

Anyhow, pleased to report I just landed an achievement for "switching on the windscreen wiper".

It is not about being negative as much as it is be vicious. Nothing wrong with pointing out something that needs fixed, it is just the way it is done. Some people post like they are in a battle and have to win. And if I was tech support, I would ignore all the vicious people as well.

I couldn't help noticing that the wiper achievements seem to be on a sliding scale, switching them on again I progressed towards Level 2 wiper usage. I kid you not!

Has anyone noticed that the rain slowly dissolves the wipers and wiper arms? Like acid rain.

Are these " achievements " logged to your Steam account?

Thank goodness there aren't toilets with paper hidden in the noses of those locomotives, so the count of your *ss wipes are also logged. !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

Is there a way to earn in-game train money, so you can buy new ones ?. *!greengrin!*

I'm not in TSW at the moment (working on my TANE Kovdor route) but I've just called up Steam and it's not listed that I can see. Must be a game-internal achievement, then.

You said you have intimate knowledge of the railroad. If you don't work for a railroad company, you do not have intimate knowledge of a railroad. Being a dedicated foamer, or even someone who models or creates railroad content, does not make you an expert. Now, if it would not be too much trouble, could you please avail us of your "intimate qualifications"?

I do agree that to many "oh happy day" posts can do just as much damage as total negative postings. DTG does need to know if things are not right so they can work on fixing them.

Who said I work for 'the' Railroad? Are you saying I said I used to work for CSX?

Here:

Ok? That kind of proves the point that DTG's recording sounds nothing like a 16-645E3.

I feel I need to step in and uphold the country's honour :D

SD40 doesnt mention working for "THE" railroad, as in CSX. He states he has an intimate knowledge of railroading. As he has posted previously, I believe he is a loco driver, or engineer as you term them. Not sure for who though, possible GWA (Gennesee & Wyoming Australia). Hence his knowledge *!!wink!!*

!*cheers*!

That is the clarification i'm looking for. A lot of folks claim to be something in railroading, and it turns out that most of them took some pictures, read a book, and had a cab ride 10 yeara ago, so it makes them an expert. Humility is one trait that foamers need more of.
