Of particular note to those of us interested in North American railroading:

In production:

[Loco Add-On] NDD-L7 02 - C40-8W (Sand Patch Grade)

In planning:

[Route Add-On] NDD-R7 02 - Cane Creek. With AC4400CW & SD40-2. (Developed by Skyhook Games)

[Route Add-On] NDD-R5 01 - Clinchfield Railroad: Elkhorn - Dante. With SD40, F7 A/B.

I actually raised a brow on this information. Well maybe, just maybe things will look upwards with this sim. Maybe time will tell. Cane Creek part I wonder if its going to be modern or DRWG? Modern part of this branch just runs Uranium tailings for disposal. The clinchfield sounds pretty interesting. Just sad to see no NEC anymore and I am surprised nothing like the Horse Shoe Curve.

Based off it having an AC4400CW and SD40-2, that would be UP.

Running Cane Creek with UP sounds good to me!

SP had both types of engines, didn't they?

They had the AC4400's, but not straight SD40-2's. They had SD40T-2's, which had a specially designed radiator section for use in tunnels.

That is an SD40M-2 based off a SD40.

Noticed that the stupid promo image that DTG have infected TS with shows an diesel loco and some HST that look unusually disproportionate to each other.

The US loading gauge is much bigger than the European. German gauge is the largest in Europe outside Scandinavia but the ICE unit depicted has roof mounted equipment at the non driving end of the front coaches and at both ends of the intermediate coaches. The driving cab end is thus lower and the fact that the modern US diesels are so huge it makes the difference even more emphasised. The ratio between the ICE and the London Underground (actually more overground) is about right.

Just noticed that the Bakerloo unit has one number over one window and a different on on the other 3165 - 3265. Attention to detail please..

I've heard it referred to as "modified". Basically, Morrison-Knudsen rebuilt a bunch of second hand SD40's and SD45's to SD40-2 standards. The V20's in the SD45's (if they still had them) were replaced with V16's, and the electrical components upgraded to dash 2 standards. Most units retained their original car bodies, but there were a few SD45 car bodies that lost their flared radiators in favor of the straight vertical radiators. They looked unusual to say the least. A batch of ex-Erie SDP45's were also cycled through the program, retaining their distinctive flared radiators and squared long hood end. SP used the SD40M-2's system wide, including as Tehachapi helpers... usually in 6 unit blocks and dirty as all heck from the tunnels. With the UP merger, the boys from Omaha kept the SD40M-2's around for awhile, slowly relegating them to secondary service as the big yellow sponge absorbed the grey and scarlet. Some of the SD40M-2's made it into yellow and grey with others simply patch renumbered. Eventually, Omaha purged the fleet. MK also rebuilt a batch of GP40's into GP40M-2's. Basically the same principle as the SD40M-2, but in a 4 axle version.
