Feels as if they build for the boxes and pc is afterthought. They claim the route length isnt hindered by console prowess but "time and resources used" to create a length.

I started with csx hh at launch but got stale quickly, then my late to the party addiction to TS began

The headsway has added a degree of intrigue for me, hopped on tonight and drove the 4400 on SPG and it, with the "physics" upgrade as of late did feel better

So long as theres no editor, it will flounder for pc. Think of the box camp screaming about no editor for them (i have an xbox btw, not completely biased *!lol!* ) if pc got one.

Heres to hoping

I bought it for my son's (23 year old) XBOX one and he abandoned it within a few days. Like he said, "I forced myself to play it because you paid for it". He also mentioned that the vast majority of console users want first player shooting games and violence and not playing trains. He asked his friends and they told me the same. If DTG keeps on this course they will become stale like a old loaf of bread.

Perhaps TSW is an excuse for dads of sons that want to play FPS and such to buy a console for their kids, "hey dad, you can play with trains on this console. Can we have one"?

Indeed the game does get stale quickly, and I don't think the "throw your own train together and paint it garish" feature will change that since the schedules and paths are still predetermined.

We'll see. The potential of TSW is huge, but it is up to DTG to unlock and develop it.

Given the way DTG abandoned the PC players demanding a real rail transport simulation in favour of the console players wanting a train driving game and collecting DLC I doubt much will change.

Im not trying to bash DTG over TSW, but, they way DTG is working with the sim is they release a too little, too late and for a price. I figured by now there would be another 10 routes or so and more Download content and the abilities to do SOME editing.

It may be that releasing for consoles was a quick and dirty way to get the needed cash infusion to pay for more development and to keep the doors open. From the Matt's last video it does appear that they are over their head and scrambling to make it more appealing to PC users. It appears that the editor may possibly be a nightmare to use because of how complicated it will be to use
. Downloading the entire UE4 plus all the plugins necessary to create scenarios. This may fall into the be careful for what you wish for category. It may be so complicated that most will give up on using it then give up on TSW2 and reverting back to TS202X. At least DTG has been throwing us a few bones to keep TS players interested in purchasing content.

One improvement that TS could use is a dark selection box instead of a white one. Clicking on objects that are on top of others that are light in colour makes it a nightmare to even be able to tell that it's selected. I wonder if there's a way to change this manually in the coding?

TS isn't dead, and won't be for years to come. The graphics/visuals are sufficient for now. They are on par with ETS2 and ATS in my opinion.

But DTG have zero intention to improve TS now unfortunately, and I doubt they're taking open to any suggestions. So I suspect it will just be the cosmetic 'upgrade' that comes yearly.

SCS games have better graphics, look at the metal parts of trucks, which reflects the environment.
TS uses a dummy cube map for reflection.

I figure that DTG has a core of individuals ( hand full at best) who develops the game its their knowledge, experience and that is why the graphics are the way they are. I hope with TSW2 that there will be no disappointment. I bought TSW Heavy Haul when it first came out and was disappointed and gave up on the sim but kept it thinking maybe the future releases and updates would improve the sim. A few weeks ago (over three years later) I forced myself to start using the sim again and I did see the improvements but I saw the sim is still extremely limited without some kind of editor that would allow owners to custom create content. I hope when August 20th rolls around that we are not disappointed.

Never heard of folks going up in the world? Many Londoners think they are superior to the rest of the UK, this one is proving it!

So there really is that North-South divide we hear about? :D

The low launch price and the upgraded Sandpatch enticed me to pre-order this game.
The Q&A suggests that it's kind of a work in progress and that there is much more to come.
So the "Roadmap" to be unveiled Tuesday should be very interesting.
