Post your system specs here for review for a start. We will need to see if your computer can run it properly. If you do not know how to get this information do this: The easy way is to go to the Steam community page and in the upper left corner click on help, scroll down to system information and a dialogue box will open. Copy and paste that information here for review.

Your system is a little sub-par by TSW standards. You need a very powerful and expensive machine to be able to run the software. In my personal opinion, don't go shelling out the big bucks to get a new computer just for TSW. I can't run TSW myself and I don't loose any sleep over it. If you can, try to get a refund if at all possible. **!!2cents!!**

Your computer specs are on the low side for TSW, but I run it on an old Dell desktop running Intel i5 processor and Windows 7. I also changed out the graphics card to an Nvidia 1070, brought up the RAM to 16 gigs (even though Win7 only uses 12 gigs), and installed a solid state drive. Honestly... the biggest improvement came from adding the graphics card.

Try these few things first though. Before running TSW, do a computer reboot. I've found that Steam and Train Simulator aren't the best at memory cleanup when they close... like it doesn't release a certain amount of memory. Look to see what programs you have running in the background after restarting. Are there any that can be killed? The idea is to have as much memory available as possible and as little CPU activity as possible.

I don't have TSW open in front of me, but I'm sure there is a way of "tuning down" the graphic settings within the game. With a lower end machine, you may have to for go graphics quality to minimize the jerkiness. I have to do the same thing in Train Simulator in order to run certain routes. Yes, it may not look as pretty as it could be, but at least it runs.

If TSW still doesn't run smoothly after trying the above, then you may be looking at upgrading some of your computer components. I would look at adding an separate video card as your first upgrade... assuming your computer can support it (has an open slot on the motherboard). Also consider pushing up your RAM up to 16 gigs. I believe Win10 will use the memory if available. Hope all this helps... and good luck.

If you’re trying to operate the game on an integrated graphics chip, you should just be glad it’s even booting up at this point.

I had the same issue for TS2019 I had fixed it by unchecking dynamic shadows. An it solved the problem is there anything in setting I can turn off. That is similar to dynamic shadows?

It all depends on which version of WIN 7 you have in your computer/laptop. Windows 7 Home 64 bit is only designed to use and recognize up to 8Gb of RAM, therefore, if you have 12Gb installed, it will not recognize the extra RAM. The solution is to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit which has a 16Gb maxium, or, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit which has a max of 192Gb of RAM.
I was reading recently that when MS stop giving WIN7 customers technical support next January 2020, that uses of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit may get the chance to pay for monthly upgrades beyond that date for possibly another 12 months, but, I haven't seen anything official from Microsoft about this, just yet.

Cheerz. Steve.

After starting TSW and selecting your profile, there will be a set of icons at the bottom left corner of the screen. Look for the "gears". That is where the settings are found. Click, and when the Settings screen is displayed, click the monitor (screen) icon. That will display your game graphics settings. Adjust as desired. I have mine set to High and anti-aliasing set to TSAA. Those settings seem to work good on my machine.

I would start with the settings at their lowest (low, no anti-aliasing) and see how it performs. If the jerkiness still persists, and the game is unplayable, then your faced with either asking for a refund, or putting some money into upgrading / replacing your system. If the jerkiness goes away, or is greatly minimized, then try notching up the graphic settings one step at a time to see where the jerkiness returns.

You can also try running in windowed mode instead of full screen, and reducing the screen size. I had to do that in Train Simulator to get better performance. It becomes less pixels for the graphics engine to push around. Just experiment until you find that sweet spot where you get the best performance for your hardware.

If you downloaded them from steam so you have a account there then the answer is yes. You just sign in and they will send you a code for your new computer and they will download to the new machine.

I shall stop beating around the bush, first of all, get a proper graphics card the more Vram the better either an AMD Radeon based card or an Nvidia based card. My 6-year-old computer runs TSW perfectly with an Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb card. I started out running TSW on a 960 2gb card and it didn't perform that good so I never played it until I got the1060. Although I believe that DTG has tweaked the graphics since the release to get it to run smoother. If you are trying to run TSW on a laptop I would forget it. See my computer specs below. Oh, and also it may be a good idea to upgrade your ram to 16 GB and maybe run Windows 10 which has a gaming mode whether it makes any difference or not it is hard to tell.

Intel graphics will not cut it for any train sim - even old MSTS!

The entry level these days is a Nvidia GTX1050 with at least 2Gb of on board Vram.
