I’m with Buzz. If I wanted it on a plate I’d only use the dlc but I don’t want to be a computer design engineer. This is a hobby, challenges yes but if it becomes a job NO.

The editor is out there, it's called the Unreal Editor. I've been messing around with it on and off for over a year. I still don't have a total grasp on it.

I did actually do a web search in regards to this comment. But this answer by DTG to a query makes it difficult to interpret whether or not the UE4 editor current can currently interact with TSW.

What will people be able to create?
The Editor will be the same as what we use to make our own routes, locos and gameplay for PC, Xbox and PlayStation. So, you should be able to make your own locomotives, wagons, coaches, routes and scenarios, all the same content that we can make

So is this a mention of an upcoming patch or something to make it compatible? Or is one ready to go with the right knowledge and capabilities?

Am waiting for an editor

The editor is out there, it's called the Unreal Editor. I've been messing around with it on and off for over a year. I still don't have a total grasp on it.

If you guys are just sitting around waiting for some magical program to make routes.....

I suggest you all get up off your butts and start learning Unreal or you will be sorely disappointed when the editor does drop.

So what have you been able to do with the Unreal editor other than learn how to use it in a state that may not be even remotely the same as when it's released for TSW? Sorry, I have better things to do with my time.

If it's anything like the current trend in 3D games, the TSW editor from DTG is a set of extensions added to the default editor for the game engine. I know (and use) a few of these. They make your job easier by adding custom interfaces, functions and scripts, tailored for a specific game. But most of the UI is still plain vanilla editor. If you know your way around the vanilla editor, you can produce content but it is very simpler with the custom extensions.

Presently I'm making content for Construction Simulator 2015, a 3D game using Unity. The dev team made a vehicle editor and a mission editor, which are just the Unity editor with extensions, and more importantly custom content: the prefabs used in the game are readily available in the editor.
