AI in Services mode

AI in Services mode

AI in Services mode behaves just a bad as in TS17:
- takes off like it has no mass;
- only the lead locomotive obeys the speed limits.

Just out of curiosity I got off my Q217 at Rockwood and spend a couple of hours train watching there. Again, I could not venture far from the tracks, even in "8" view.

Without a clock visible anywhere it was difficult to keep track of time, quite boring without the usual chatter from the scanner that railfans bring along. Staring at the ground or sky slowly drove the fps up to 62, the limit. GPU rose to 100%.

AI services came and went, as advertised in the time table. FPS dropped to the usual 14. So it is definitely the trains that keep graphic performance down.
I took Q226 back to Cumberland.

What to do about this AI behaviour? Submit a ticket to DTG Customer Service? It might be a choice by design ...

I don't know what to say about the AI, but in terms of performance, your rock bottom lies above my top, so you get no sympathy from me. In any case, my top is improving and I'm no stranger to low fps, which for me dogs TS as well.

I don't get why they coded the AI trains to take off so fast. Even a lay person who doesn't have the first clue about trains would probably say "wow, that looks a little fast for such a huge thing." The physics modelling is probably not at play when it comes to AI, so is probably more directly scripted. Hopefully it would be a simple fix for them to change how fast the AI accelerates.
