Any release notes? I just ran a quick test and the fps is about the same.
EDIT: Keyboard fix only. No optimization updates.

Here's the notice from the TSW forum at Steam:

Hi All,

"Thank you all once again for your continued feedback!

Following the recent test build, we are now releasing Update 1 to all TSW: CSX Heavy Haul owners which addresses the following issues/bugs:

FULL PATCH NOTES
VR Client no longer loads unexpectedly and audio does not play through VR headset.
Added keyboard support for RU, NL. BE, CZ, TRQ, HU & Arabic: AB101, AB102AZERTY
Gauge Lights re-mapped to O in Turkish.
Update 1 will download automatically from Steam and will be approximately 220 MB in size.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have played extensively in the U1TB version, here's how to backup and move your game profile, so you won't lose any progress when reverting back to the main game:

1. Go to My Documents in Explorer

2. Find: My Games\TS2Prototype\Saved\SaveGames - this folder is the only destination that profle data is saved in.

3. Copy the files within this folder to a brand new folder on your PC, for example, on the desktop.

4. Load Steam and swap back to the main Train Sim World game experience (right click on the game in your library, choose Properties, select the BETAS tab, go back to NONE.)

5. Go back to My Games\TS2Prototype\Saved\SaveGames - which should now be empty. Copy the desktop folder files back into this folder.

6. Load TSW and you should have your progress stored and available.

If you have any problems/queries with regard to the update, leave a comment below or submit a ticket to our support site [dovetailgames.kayako.com] where our Support Team will be ready to assist.

Keep the feedback coming guys!"

The way I see it the first thing to get right is the game optimization although on my system I don't think they could be improved much more, then when they have got that right they well concentrate on the physics. Mind you as in any game everyone is not going to be happy what ever DTG do.

Problems such as this must be reported to DTG -- no one here can help you with this!

It will require a patch. DTG have already released one for keyboard problems but it didn't fix all keyboard problems so they're working on another. If they don't already know about issues with portugese keyboards then make sure you let them as quickly as possible.

What Build are you at?
Check the Build number on the Settings screen.

Mine shows 44 and I still have problems on Windows 7 with English language as default display language, but Dutch system locale and US International keyboard, which means my Input language is Dutch?

There are probably more combinations that DTG thought of and perhaps UE4 regional settings also play a role. They all need to match for the keyboard to operate as intended. The custom keys function isn't implemented yet?

A huge solution would be the ability to map keys wherever you want like every other game in the world has by now.

That also is not a solution but a work around.
It was discussed but there are a number of complications that also go with that.
After consideration we picked what we felt was right for the software.
More updates coming over the coming weeks, this was to address the lion share of keyboard issues.
Also, please keep informing DTG of any issues that arise, it will help us improve the software as we develop it.
thanks
