RRmods site merged

Unread postby Unoriginal » Tue Oct 31, 2023 1:34 pm

Seems all the RRmods sites had gotten merged, including the railworks one. Why am I bringing this up? Well I noticed under the TSC section that the bethlehem coal hoppers seem to be missing (if you don't know which they're the ones on the professional models tab on the main RWA site). Anyone mind mentioning this too them?

I have purchased 2 of their GP40-2s and have some of their freeware rollingstock. Very good detail and sounds.
Definitely high end and nicely detailed but expensive: https://rrmods.com/ You get what you pay for.
IMO, this is the best bundle deal: https://rrmods.com/product/combo-pullman-standard-4750-hopper-car-railworks-ts2019-64-bit-early-mid-late-aex-cnw-up-icg-bn-csx-sbd-scl-repaintable/

The only thing with those hoppers is that there's a freeware alternative from searchlight which is free. I honestly think the other rolling stock is great, but them being payware and not reskinner friendly still hits me the wrong way,

I doubt that RRmods cars are not repaint friendly. For example, I bought 2 cars of 4000 cft Thrall gondolas
https://rrmods.com/product-category/rai ... railworks/
and created 4 repaints from them for me (unfortunately I can not publish).

Have a look at https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/digirai ... -cars-f15/
There Jessie James repainted quite a few cars from RRmods
Only for these I bought cars from RRmods. Then the price relativizes itself enormously.

I think they’re fine with the cars being repainted? Id have no idea on that though. I know they don’t allow repaints of their GP40-2s though.

So what are you trying to say? " not reskinner friendly still hits me the wrong way,"

It's just not something I'm fond of. Feel the same way about dieselworkshop and machine rail since they also don't really permit reskins and mods of their stuff.

If Jessie James is doing them and they haven't been taken down?? In fact the car pack I mentioned comes with templates to reskin.
Quote from the page:
"Includes 31 different skins-
Five: AEX skins
Four: Chicago North Western skins
Three: Union Pacific Skins
Two: Illinois Central Gulf
Six: Burlington Northern skins (two paint variations)
Three: CSX skins
Three: Seaboard System Railroad
Three: Seaboard Coast Line
Two: Blanks cars with PSDs
Animated Bottom Shelf couplers/hoses
Three LODS
Auto Running Numbers
Road specific highly detailed features
Realistic physics
Repaintable- Upload your skins!
Tested in Railworks (TS2019)"

Going through each TSC DLC, only the GP40-2s have a no modifications or no reskins disclaimer. There is no such disclaimer on any other piece of rolling stock.

Looking at past posts as ive had this same question for their ACF Centerflows. "Thank you all for your kind words! Quick update regarding the ACF 4600 Hopper, for this specific release we're going to change our policy on repaints. That said feel free to upload your artwork to the RWA library. Please do not share the shape files." -RRMods

So im sure the rollingstock is fine, just not the gp40-2

Yeah, the rolling stock is fair game, guess people on here can start painting.

Anyway, could anyone contact them about the missing hoppers I mentioned above? There's a category for them but nothing shows up.
