NERW Lafayette division issue

Unread postby 5292nate » Wed Sep 27, 2017 6:06 pm

Hi all.

Haven't posted in a while so if there's already a thread going on this, I can't find it. Already tried a search. Anywho, I recently downloaded the NERW Lafayette division line and I must say it's a fantastic route. But every time I try to run it, at different points it crashes the game. I've gotten various errors from "memory exceeded" to just a plain old "trainsimulator has stopped working". Any ideas as to what's up?

Thanks!

Nate

How much memory does your computer contain?

This route is usually not too taxing on your computer. What rolling stock are you running?

Can you repeat the crash or is it completely random? I wonder if you have a bad asset? This route is pretty stable for me anyway. Obviously I've run it hundreds of times.

Buzz the crashes are completely at random. It's started doing it on other DTG routes as well now.

I presume you have checked the route for missing assets in RW Tools, etc, etc????

How much memory have you got to play with on your hard drive?

The reason I ask is because only yesterday my HDD, which has a volume of 465GB went down to well under 70GB free and I had several out of memory dump crashes and vertex buffer error messages. After archiving a lot of downloaded assets onto a portable HDD my free space volume total then jumped back up to over 100GB and I haven't had a crash since.......Just a thought.

What about other computer housekeeping, such as defragging your hard drive, if it needs doing of course, and other things to keep your gameplay as smooth as low fat Margarine.

I have run several scenarios with no problem and I don't have the best computer by a long shot.
