How much do physics mods affect scenarios?

I have never been too big of a proponent of physics and sound mods for this game, mostly from lack of experience. I recently purchased a sound/physics pack from Searchlight simulations, and am quite impressed. One question that lingers with me still, is how much would having this pack (GE FDL-16) installed, affect the train's performance for scenarios?

Is it enough to 'break' existing scenarios made without the pack?

Are the AI trains performance changed too?

Any first hand feedback would be appreciated.

It shouldn't screw with AI stuff too much, but you will notice it's harder to meet timelines and such because the locomotives now have a realistic pulling ability, and don't rocket off with the throttle.

Thanks Anthony!

If I make the sound&physics pack a dependency of the scenario, then that should rule out any chance of users experiencing different timings/performance than I do, right?

I would say so.

For standard scenarios it shouldn't make much difference, but it will affect career scenarios.
Some standard scenarios are actually easier to complete with mods, because things like Dynamic brakes actually work properly on downgrades.

Answering the first question: The physics are greatly improved, as stated in another reply, however, you more than likely will have to modify existing scenarios to make the pack(s) work properly.

Second question: See first question answer.

Third question: AI trains don't seem to change physics-wise, the only change I've noticed that some engines will sound like they are running in low idle, even when going up a mountain.

Hope this helps!
