so im pretty new to getting things off the workshop and ive subscribed to two WIP routes, I was wondering, what happens when the authors update the routes, what do I need to do to make sure I have the updated route?

No they automatically update as the author puts his update to Steam.

Oh so your saying that without doing anything to the route (on Steam), the route will update for anyone who has it when the author updates it?

Yes. When you start the game up it should (at least on mine) quickly flash a sign that says loading workshop items.

I don't think those WIP routes on Steam are seeing much WIP. I've had a few downloaded for sometime now, and nothing has happened with them. But I will say this. Looking at a few of those WIP routes, and comparing them to the one I am working on, makes me look like a master route builder!

Yeah I know! I made a small oval route with five industries and a yard. Doesn't sound like much, but the route has close to 3,000 assets.
