Good afternoon,
I'm trying to remove the flange sound from the Feather River U30B. I've searched the site but didn't find anything about what I would need to change or delete. there is a post about zeroed out the base volume for both references but not sure where in the Proxyxml file he's referring to...
Any help would be appreciated.....
Dave

Where ever it says "flange squeal" just change the file name and you won't hear it anymore. (.dav to whatever you want it to be)

ET44C4 ,
Thanks for the quick response, I renamed them before but didn't realize I could just remove them...
Made my day...

Hum... I personally don't own the U30B so I can't actually look into it. Maybe you should go through the .bin and change any the file name/type(s) that have to do with the flange squeal. Not sure what else you can do if that doesn't work. Hopefully someone else with much more experience can help if it doesn't work.

There are four .dav files in wheels and brakes. I suggest you like do a .dav.xxx instead of deleting them and see what happens.

Buzz,
looking in my back-up Brakes and Wheels folder I don't see any .dav referring to Flange squeal. I have Brake Squeal though, there's 12 .dav files in the folder..

I didn't see anything in there anywhere referring to flange squeals. Lots of them in the wagon sounds but not the engine.

!!**sorry**!! I did say "flange squeal" because I saw the name for other locomotives and assumed that the U30B would have the same file name. !*don-know!*

Well reading the proxybin there is some gobblygook about curves and it refers to the ones I'm talking about. Try xing them on the suffix and see what happens. That's why I do it that way so it's easy to undo.

Don't forget to delete the local cache files, in the TS 2017 options.
