But here's the rub.... go to any of those 3 major forum sites I mentioned and try and find a bunch of people making posts clamoring for or complaining about the lack of either Xbox 360 support or TrackIR support prior to DTG adding them to their sim. You'd be hard pressed to find any.....let alone a lot. Yet.... DTG added support for those devices anyways.
But I can find you numerous posts on those forums over the years from RailDriver owners or potential owners clamoring for or complaining about the lack of RailDriver support. And unlike the Xbox 360 controller and TrackIR, the RailDriver was made SPECIFICALLY for train simulators.... yet it's the RailDriver that still goes unsupported to this very day despite years of RailDriver owners or potential owners asking for it. IMO.... that's really messed up and screwed up priorities!
Notice to this day (that I am aware of) DTG has never addressed the RailDriver issue in posts or PR press releases? Because they don't have any good reason why they don't support it.
That's a bit harsh on DTG

. One of the reasons that DTG couldn't develop anything initially for RD is that Raildriver is NOT recognised by Windows as a "game controller" whereas the XBOX 360 controller is, (and also recognised by windows is the Track IR) All you are doing with a controller is emulating the built in KEYSTROKES (there are no AXES) in TS and you need that controller to be recognised by Windows to do that.
RD is NOT "recognised by Windows", and hence needs a special interface which is already provided by Raildriver, so why should DTG develop that further and possibly run into other problems in doing so. If RD was recognised by Windows as a game controller there would be no issues at all. If the RD developers cannot get FULL emulation in TS - what chance does DTG have? There is good piece of software available via UKTS for Raildriver and that seems to work pretty well, but even that is not fully universal (and neither is the Xbox 360).
I'm pretty happy the way RD runs now and there is great support from RD itself.
