Ok, great model, reminds me of when I was a kid and it running on my 4x8 layout. I had quite a few great runs with it on the HSC and New York to New Haven routes.
My disappointment came when I wanted to extend the length of the train and finding I couldn't couple to a cut of AT coaches on another track. I also found out that the LWT-12s will not run as head-end units for bi-directional running. I have tried coupling different arrangements together with the components supplied with the pack, but nothing seems to work. If these units had gone into full time service they would have had ways to change out damaged units, and I would have thought that the bi-directional train would have eventually came to pass.
I guess my question is, can this package be made to be used like the normal trains we run everyday by being able to couple any number of cars together, and run bi-directional trains using two head-end units at both ends of the train? For the money we spend for the normal everyday units and this package being similar in price I would think we should have been able to accomplish the afore mentioned situations.
Nice work on this model in my book as far as its replication goes, but it needs more to make it work.
