CNW GP50 Fix It List

Unread postby cnwfan » Sun Jan 24, 2016 10:02 am

I have a couple of requested fixes on the CNW GP50 pack.

1. Bell sound needs to be changed out to the gong type. On the UP GP50 pack, this bell sound is present on the ex-CNW version.
2. Horn sequence is slow to start and plays for a long time. I believe this was reported in a prior post. Again, the horn works correctly (length and sound) on the UP GP50 pack, and it's the same horn.

Both these fixes should be pretty easy to patch, as the files are already present in the UP GP50 pack. Thanks!

I posted about the horn in the main GP50 thread but this is probably a better place.

The other issue I had was the dynamic brake sounds are not heard outside the cab.

If you own the UP GP50 DLC that you can manually fix the bell sound.

I can fix the bell and horn sounds by aliasing it to the UP unit. However, this seems like a pretty simple bug that the provider should be fixing. I've been noticing this problem with a few payware providers. They are in such a rush to push revenue generating content out the door, that product testing is also rushed, and bugs are missed. Then, it's like pulling teeth to get the provider to fix bugs, as the priority is releasing new content instead of fixing the existing content.

Most payware providers do an excellent job testing the product before release, and if bugs are found... they respond very quickly with fixes. To those providers, I am more than happy to pay the full fare. And let me say that DTM is normally a payware provider that produces a quality product, which is why I'm surprised at these sound bugs, as it was working in an earlier product.
