Have you checked the steam apps/common folder?

All your games are located there, each in their own folder.
There should be a Railworks folder also.

Try starting Railworks.exe with the Steam client running.

1. Close TS, if you haven't already.
2. Reboot your computer.
3. Restart TS.
4. If the problem persists, perform a files verification. (Some folks -- well, at least one folk I know of -- insist that the verification must be repeated until no files fail, but I've never experienced that.)
5. Reboot your computer and try starting TS normally again.

I had a 1.2gb update earlier this week as well. I think it is just that patch for the 'Acadamy' items that were improved. You can just click 'pause' on the update and launch the game through steam still.

Something I learned the hard way. **!!bang!!** Reboot is not the same as Restart. Shut down the computer so you have to push the button on the case to start it up again

I'm an IT guy ...

Reboot and restart are generally synoynmous. If I tell someone "reboot your computer" I mean "restart" (the OS).

Powering on the computer after a complete shutdown is what's called a "cold boot" or "cold start" - though the terms are probably rarely used outside of IT departments.

The best way to distinguish them? If you mean to tell someone to restart the operating system without shutting down the computer, then "reboot"or "restart" should convey that to most people. If you mean "do a cold start" just spell it out a little: "shut down the computer, wait 30 seconds or so, and then turn it back on."
