White far hills in Soldier Summit

I have heard about the issue related with far white hills in some routes. But I am puzzled about what is going on in my current Soldier Summit route !*don-know!*

In T2015 I never experienced white hills in Soldier Summit:

In TS2016 I have been playing in Soldier Summit these last two days with those unwanted white and light green hills: !*not-ok*!

Anyone can give me some advise to try to counter this issue? !DUH!

I just checked and read this post:
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=12639&start=75&hilit=white+hills
There is an "autumn" file. I don't know if it can do something. My 2nd pic is in summer early afternoon.
I have replaced the ap with a backup from July, because I had a missing tracks.bin in an SolSum scenario.
No pak in the route folder.
Nothing has changed.

EDIT
I am looking at this thread concerning to the non loading tracks.bin:
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=14008&p=159590&hilit=tracks.bin#p159590
I have not yet installed FanRailer mod in Soldier Summit or any other one. Weird! !*don-know!*
I will try tomorrow mrennie solution related with tracks.bin.
I believe the erratic scenario mentioned in that thread is the same as mine.

The major ,problem still remains. The white-green hills. *!question!*

I had that exact same issue with the EXTREMELY white/green hills just as you have the pic of. It happened right around the TS2014-TS2015 update on the route that I'm building. The issue persisted for a few days, then went away on its own. I have seen the seasonal 'distant white mountains' issue on a few routes as well, but I believe it is a separate issue than what you are experiencing now.

Be good to know the scenario and the position where this was happening. This annoys me when someone post something about a route but don't give the scenario name and location so the someone can try it out. BTW what are your computer specs etc ?

The problem I am experiencing in Soldier Summit happens all along the route. I started in Helper and ended in Provo.
It was my recent run with the Consolidation but it has nothing to do with the rolling stock.
The shown pic is near Provo.

I have had white hills in Cajon. But this is a different issue as I did not have it and this was the first time I played Soldier Summit after TS2016 was released. !**conf**! !**conf**! !**conf**!

EDIT The white hills in Cajon (rather light grey) look more natural and further. They are not annoying at all as those white & lemon green hills. !*snd-help*!

Soldier Summit with "dynamic lights" unchecked:

Soldier Summit with "dynamic lights" checked:

A few days ago I unchecked dynamic lights to improve my performance a few more fps

I will have to live with less fps
I will take a look to other routes like Cajon.

SOLVED !*YAAA*!

EDIT: May someone try to uncheck DL and see if this is a bug or it is only something related with my GT 730 card? !!det!!

Try the Cajon Pass enhancement pack which might lighten up the darkness. http://www.ferrosim.es/downloads.php?vi ... &df_id=167

DL is what use to be called TSX.

Thanks for the link. I have been looking at this package since some time ago. I visit Spanish sites from time to time. I will install it soon. But I do no expect it fixes the subject of this thread.

The problem I am showing impacts all routes. **!!bang!!**

I have improved that Cajon image I posted by maxing the TS2016 brightness fully to the right. However it doesn't have the same look and contrast as when dynamic lights is deselected. The most desertic areas look like real Mojave at that time of the day.
The vivid colors of Soldier Summit and The Horseshoe Curve look grayish with DL selected.
About your last comment, I have been in TS for only 4 months and other experience come mainly from MSTS with which I frequented some Spanish MSTS sites nearly 8-10 years ago. !*cheers*!

I have been running TS for over 5 years. TSX mode was used in TS2014 and in version TS2015 changed it to DL which caused a lot of confusion people asking what happened to TSX.
The problem with Cajon pass is that it has been around for quite sometime. It came with my original TS and so is quite old and hasn't been updated as far as I know.

Yep. You turn dynamic lighting off and this is what you get.

Precisely! The best vivid colors if it wasn´t for those artificial far hills.
I have been running (last hour) an early morning career scenario in Soldier Summit with a cloudy sky (not overcast) and dynamic lights (on vs off) do not change much the colors. It would seem that clear sunny days have the most contrasting differences.

Thanks for posting that yard pic. Definitively I will go for that Cajon Pass update.
Did you have dynamic lights checked or unchecked when you took that screenshot?

I think you will find the 'new' weather to be the most sensitive to whether dynamic lighting is on or off.
