Though from a marketing point of view idle speculation and wishes is more preferable than a lack of Buzz.

Is the view distance comparable to something like the Open Worlds demo , is there a maximum route length, is track laying spline based or some thing else, dynamic lighting and weather ? etc. etc.

Actually I think it's a brilliant marketing strategy. Make a new simulator and then sell the same stuff all over again. Elegant .

"Looking forward to playing with intelligent people".

Good luck with that. I've sat in on more than a few Run8 sessions where it started out all trains amd business and ended up degenerating into coffee talk, fart jokes, and some guy apologizing because in yesterday's session his sugar was off and he had a spasmodic episode.

I prefer AI myself. It may be stupid, but at least it's expected.

Growth :D *!!wink!!*

I'll buy this first one just to see what they have, and I got no more questions that won't be answered in the near future. I've read they'll release tools at some point, so it's OK I guess and maybe it won't be a waste of $$.

I'd say it depends on who you are playing with. It's almost like how I prefer to play Arma 3 with randoms than with my friends. Playing with them is like trying to herd cats.
If I could break up one of my friend's trains, then use those cars to switch local industries later on, I'm all for it. Now, it would be better if I could do it in a close to home scenario, but I have yet to see DTG assign a Northern New England route to their list of DLC.

That strategy would be difficult, since DTG has clearly declared that TSW will not be backwards compatible.

You don't understand what I am trying to say. You know like sell the Feather River Route only for the new sim and sell the SD70 for the new sim and so forth. They already know what DLC sold a lot of so just start with the biggest seller only for the new sim and away you go.

Oh, at first I thought you were being sarcastic.
Yes, it is a good strategy. They know they can offer Marias Pass and Horseshoe Curve anytime and people will jump on it.
And it is always easier to do the second time: research is done, track data was collected, track plan is done, buildings are done and maybe some geometries can be imported.
Also it is likely to motivate more players to switch to TSW.

Yeah, I live for the opportunity to buy new versions of 108 routes. I can't wait!

FYI: THAT was sarcasm.

I will gladly buy new versions of the routes and locomotives if they are more realistic in the new game engine.

I agree with the sarcasm. But you know there will be people that will do just that. And DTG knows that too. I will be one of them just for the graphics improvements. I have been looking forward for a long time to have a train program that comes close to real life as they can. Like moving trees and like someone said in one of the posts animated animals.

Another feature I am waiting for are the route building improvements. I know i will have to wait for this if DTG does what they have done in the past. But you can't have everything in the beginning. Alot of you know how I like to make routes. This is going to be right up my alley.

Back when DTG announced they were headed toward Unreal, I spent a summer giving the whole thing a sizing-up as it related to TS, and publishing my findings. The only difference between then and now is a screen cap and a coupla release dates, so this largely still holds:
