Removing Routes from Hard Drive?

Unread postby ESzczesniak » Thu Mar 10, 2016 11:34 am

I was wondering if there's a good way to remove routes from the hard drive for a Steam/TS2016 install? I have a number of the routes I'd like to keep installed on my desktop, but I just recently bought a laptop with a more limited hard drive size. I'd like to have TS2016 on there to play from time to time, but would like to shrink the hard drive footprint a bit and only keep the few routes I would use regularly. Thanks.

I would suggest you purchase RWTools if you don't already own it for this purpose. It names all of the routes so you don't have to go poking through xml files to find all these names from the obscure numbers of the routes. It has a one click delete choice to get rid of unwanted stuff and has a great tutorial about how to use the program.

Wouldn't he have to run Train Sim on the laptop in offline mode to avoid Steam replacing the routes?

But he wants to keep them installed on his desktop.

Maybe use two Steam accounts and the family sharing thing, which is free. Then do what robbit suggested.
