What is the name of the game engine this sim uses?
Just wondering out of curiosity.

Kuju Train Simulator, I am guessing it has no real name, they just put it together14 years ago.

Although the specific engine escapes me, I believe it follows closely with XNA.
Cheers!

Marc
If you were looking for an NVidia Inspector game compatibility mode for TS2014, what would be a mainstream game that use a similar type of game engine - or is TS2014 unique?

Rail simulator started out on the KUJU developed ' Heracles ' . If you're asking for any reason other than casual interest then there have been several titles to use the engine, it was not specifically developed for a train game. Given the patches and rebuilds to date, hodge-podge is a fair description. As for XNA, if you drop this -> XNA support ends <- into a search engine you'll find more info.

IDA knows all.

I asked out of pure curiosity, but if it's based on a more well known game engine, it might help with some software options in gaming.
What sparked my interest, was somebody posting the command lines recently over at Steam. I knew some existed, but was surprised at how many were available to use.

I'm a little disjointed, that RSC hasn't taken advantage of the stand alone routes coming out, to introduce some real improvements to the game engine. Really I mean a new game engine.

Eric
I think that was me that posted the command lines over on steam - which I got from Doc Lisboa (see below)

If we could 'crack'" the compatibility code for TS2014 in NVI we could possibly force g external graphics settings in TS2014 and possibly get a better picture??

Kuju and MS seemed to have used the XNA/.NET game format but there are not too many mainstream games using that as far as I can see.

Was this them?

That's what RSC branded the advanced features in TS, but that's not the game engine. Other than coding and tweaking the shader files, the game remains essentially unchanged from Rail Simulator.
Cheers!
