Marias Pass + BNSF SD40-2 Question.

Unread postby roinuj » Fri Apr 12, 2013 8:43 pm

Just wondering if anyone can confirm whether the new DLC SD40-2 released with Marias Pass is the newer RW3 model version of the SD40-2 or a rehashed version of the old Kuji default model? Its hard to tell from the Steam store screen shots. If the BNSF low mounted light version is the newer updated model, then I will be looking at dusting off my CN SD40 project and updating it.

Thanks

It is the newer RSC model that actually has an updated cab and some new/improved details on the exterior as well. Its is a very nice piece!

Thanks Arctic Cat. Will have to definitely give some thought to getting it. Would love to move my CN SD40 to the newer model rather then the older DLC version that is no longer available.

The BN SD40-2 is completely wrong for BN though. !*not-ok*!

I saw your post on facebook about the situation, it is ashame that they ignored you, but I am not surprised one bit. I'd be interested to know, what did you want them to do with the model to make them more prototypical for BN?

Missing strobe light.

Missing BN Prime Beacon (like the SW1500), they have the horn in the wrong spot, and the sounds suck. Thankfully Simer and I have sound sets for that.

Because he asked about our honest opinion on it. I gave it. I like the BNSF 40-2s, the BN ones are junk.

I wasn't referring to the comments about the locomotive. Everyone is entitled to a opinion. I was referring to the snarky remarks about RSC. They have nothing to do with the loco and violate the terms of behavior on here.

To tell you guys the truth. They don't give you the answer you needed. They're like politics, you ask them a question they give you a different answer

I'm actually interested in the BNSF with the low mounted headlight. Its as close to a Canadian version as I can get with out having to model my own locomotive.

The people at RSC do have a business to run and products to sell. A sales person is not going to approach you and say "Oh we made a mistake because we where not paying attention. Please. Don't buy this product" !!howdy!! So no. Your not going to get a honest straight forward answer. That's just business. Another thing people seem to forget is that the TS guy's are in UK. They don't get to see the same train's everyday like we do. You have to admit for someone on the other side of the world, they do a pretty good job. !*salute*!

Well I may come off a bit rash, but contrary to belief, there are people like me that work hard in gathering information for the US DLC. That's why the Maria's Pass is so excellent.
