New Virtual 3D Coming Soon

Unread postby CSX2057 » Thu Apr 11, 2013 2:31 pm

My bro talked to me about a New Virtual 3D for pc. Its Called Oculus Rift.

http://www.oculusvr.com/

Its under development at this time, so developers are able to pre order this device to see how it works on their gaming products. Its got 3D and won't strain your eyes. It hooks up to HDMI or DVi, sorry no VGA and you could actually play Train Simualtor 2013 in 3D. Its like you're really there. The down part is you can't see your keyboard or your controls. The resolution is gonna be 1280X1080 so your video card won't work hard as much. You could even run it on the highest Graphics. I'm gonna sell my 2 screens and get this one

This auta be cool!

Now all they will need are some special designed gloves to use to handle the controls.

Will this work with PC?

If so I hope to be able to try it one of these days if I ever could afford one.

Yup its for Pc only. Hand controls I don't think they will develop that. Ny concern is I hope this will work very well on railworks. This will make you sit in a engineer chair like in real life. Worst case scenarion if I'm right, when you go in reverse you have to turn your head 180 degrees. Its pretty neat!

I wonder how much it will cost, I'll be putting it on my list.

If they made some kind of hand control like they should it probably would work like the mask to move things such as the controls and not need the mouse or keyboard. Since it might be hard to do anything on Railworks other then fumbling with the keys since you won't be able to see them.

I wonder if we'll be able to put the engineer' head out the window just by moving your position and your head.

Exactly what I was thinking. Price range 200 to 300. I will contact rsc when I get home from work. But right now they are selling for developers who sell their games. I'm not sure when they will sell it it to their customer.

It's still basically a monitor screen. I don't know, of course, but I feel fairly certain that there will still be the same mouse arrow and any other interface graphics on the screen so that you can still use the mouse or other controls. It does look quite enticing. If the developer model is $300, then perhaps the consumer model will be in the TrackIR range. If so, I'll get it as soon as it's released.
