Unread postby CSX2057 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 6:52 pm

I just rebooted my system and I am so mad that the locomotives, ns, csx, and others, That I downloaded from here and other sites and now have to reinstall them. Is there anyway to back them up without having to go through with this geos files?

I use the 2-click batch file to install the files:

Or perhaps I can package those assets using RWTools for myself.

The 2-click system is the simplest and easier.
Anything else you come up with is going to be more complicated.

I don't understand. Why would a re-boot cause anything to disappear?

I downloaded some free games off the internet and that cause my registry to go berserk. My DirectX, Java and registry didn't function so I had to reboot. So far I backed up my NARW, and others on time.

Now I have to reinstall all, Digirails rollingstock, and RWA locomotives and that really ticked me off. Forgot to back those up. The routes works just fine. Plus since I ask a question earlier about scenarios about adding assets that required, now I know how that works.

By 'reboot' he probably means reinstall Windows.

External hard drives are pretty inexpensive nowadays and will save you a ton of grief if your computers hard drive poops out on you.

You don't have to do that. If you have RW Tools you can back up from there. Or just grab assets folder from inside RW and copy it to the external HD. No fuss no muss. Just remamber to replace the file after you put a bunch of new stuff in game.
