Donner Pass Sounds

Unread postby imphantum » Sat Nov 24, 2012 11:02 pm

I recently bought Donner Pass because I know the update is coming soon, and after playing it I realized I coudnt stand the sounds on the locos especially the SD40 & the SD40T so does anyone know of any sound upgrades such as engine sounds and horn upgrades for the DP locos?

I have one chilling on my PC waiting for RSC to email me. If they decide not to release it, up to RWA it goes!

Two different P3s. An old cast on the SD40s, new cast on the Dash 9s.

You could use simer4's sounds for the SD40-2

From what I understand, SP used a custom P3 arrangement?

Nope. P124. Pretty standard. The only difference is how they put them on the manifold, which doesn't change sound. I know quite a bit about horns. *!!wink!!*

So this must be the place horns dream of when the rest of their loco is scraped.

Nice!

And your friends and the assembled fanfare ....

These horns are big!

Are you allowed to blow a train horn on your car instead of a honker to warn that old lady crossing the street?

I even saw a video on one of those horn sites of a large flatbed truck with ship's horns with like 6 or 8 foot bells mounted on a rack. The guy "playing" them at some assembly didn't dare to turn the full pressure on.

Ehhhh not "legally". I've done it when the trucks stock horn isnt enough. Here's results of the honk that day here: http://hornwhistleboard.com/viewtopic.p ... ale#p44319
