The EOT appears as if summoned by magic when you make up a consist of TS2013 freight cars belonging to the Sherman Hill asset pack and switch on the locomotive headlights. Only Sherman Hill freight cars have this nifty feature.
Don't know for certain you will need to use a lashup of exclusively TS2013 locomotives pulling a full TS2013 consist to have the consist messages being passed along correctly.
Some experimentation is in order also, perhaps adding a consist message script to the other freight cars?

Them at RSC forgot to give the Sherman Hill caboose a red taillight but perhaps that can be added by scripting a light emitter as well ....
It would also be nice to have the caboose's platform lights come on and go off automatically above say 10 MhH. The locos already have steplights, but you have to flick a switch in the cab.

One question: is the EOT device properly initialised if you resume a previously save scenario? The locomotive's auxilliary lighting is not.

You cannot add the EOT device to other cars, i.e. not belonging to the Sherman Hill asset pack.
You cannot find, select and add it in the scenario editor as it is defined as a non-pickable object.

It is defined as a node to the car's shapefile. No doubt this node can be hacked into another car's shapefile, but then you'll probably need to script the other car as well to make it respond to a consist message passed down from the head end, i.e. lead locomotive cab.

I believe there is a "loose" EOT device available in the RWA filestore. You'll have to take both that and a Sherman Hill car apart and work out the magic yourself.
No doubt, "Doc" Machinist or one of the other resident hackers will come with a solution. Just give them some time.

I have given the answer to this before but don't mind giving it again.

The EOTD is set up as a forward and reverse light in the source file of each wagon.
It is not a child object because that is not how you set up lights on rolling stock.
It is set up how the system is designed to work.

Each wagon needs the asset I made adding in the max file and exporting into IGS then XML exported.

regards
