We don't have an CW44AC's for Railworks to my Knowledge. All we have are the CW44-9's. However, I think an CW44AC would be an excellent addition to Railworks!

+1 to that and all we have are C44-9W's and ES44AC's.

Steerable Trucks would be great, too. CSX repaints in Railworks just don't look right without them.

AC4400's would fit right in on Donner Pass and Sherman Hill. Both Southern Pacific and Union Pacific had more AC4400's than they did dash 9's.

that would work temporaraly but the rivet counters will notice the AC converter thingy missing that the ac4400's have....which is the main difference between the dash9.

and im just going to say currently we have the C44-9W, ES44AC, and the ES44DC in RW

Hmm what if you took the C44-9W into google sketchup and elongated the AC converter by adding a child object?

They're referring to the longer cabinet behind the conductors side of the cab. Compare the side of a dash 9 to the ac44 and you'll notice the ac44s is much larger/longer than the dash9.

The handrails would interfere with the cabinet. There are also more vents above that cabinet. The cab roof also seems to be bent differently. The front door is flush on the dash 9 whereas it is on the protruding on the AC. On the CSX AC unit am looking at the number boards on the the nose, not the brow of the cab, but this could be road specific. At least the bell is in the same place...

So, it could be done with child objects, but it would be like putting lipstick on a hog and calling it a pig. *!!wink!!*

The numberboards would work with SP, UP, and BNSF.

I'd be down for a Canadian Pacific AC4400! I spent 10 years in Milwaukee living near the main tracks to Chicago and saw these all the time. I do prefer the CP paint job to CN's...and I'm not dogging CN here. I just think the CP scheme looks better. What I liked about CN is they bought more EMDs then CP did.
EMD 2-strokes rule! My all time favorite: SD45X also love the SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe

You musta got 'em when they were somewhat clean and new! They look like hell now! You wouldn't believe what a ghost town Muskego Yard is these days...

But I'd get behind a CP AC4400...I've got plenty of reference pics *!rolleyes!*

Well it was hit and miss on new and dirty ones. I lived right near the KK river railroad bridge. Wash-4 is the track out of the Milwaukee yard that goes out onto the main line to Chicago right there. Never been to Muskego Yard. I've been to CP's Milwaukee yard and to both UP's Mitchell Yard and Butler yard. UP only has a single track main line unlike CP's two mains to Chicago. UP also has a lot less trains coming through then CP.

I managed to get to Duplainville once where CN and CP cross each other. It's a pretty busy crossing for train watching. Another good place to watch is at the Mitchell Airport Amtrak station where the commuter train to Chicago makes a stop. It's on a minor grade, so you get to watch the CP freights struggle a little up it. Just stand on the platform and enjoy! *!greengrin!*

The CP yard in Milwaukee is actually named Muskego Yard, due to Muskego Rd. actually going through it way back in the MILW days. Duplainville is a good little hot spot for sure, though I prefer to roam and chase, but I usually use Duplainville as the base of such activities (Check out the second link in my sig)! Speaking of the Airport Station, I'm assuming you might have gotten to Waterford Ave. once or twice? The Airport/Waterford/Grange Ave. are all fun spots to watch them work up Lake Hill out of Milwaukee!

UP's Mitchell Yard is practically dead, as everything is based out of Butler Yard, which is constantly full it seems. It seems like the railroads are slowly dying in the city, while growing just outside...
When did you leave? Cause within the last year or so, some major change has taken place...

TO shicoe30 .....

I left Milwaukee in July of 2010. Mitchell yard was dead when I was there too. I think a lot of it has to do with the decline in manufacturing companies on the south side of Milwaukee in general.

As for Muskego yard, I think I do recall it being called that on the scanner now that you mention it. I simply called it the Milwaukee yard cuz it right near downtown Milwaukee unlike the Mitchell and Butler yards which are in the inner/outer suburbs of the city. And yes.... I have been to all those spots on the Lake Hill.

I didn't watch a lot of UP action cuz it was pretty infrequent. But CP had AC4400s and Soo Line SD40-2s running down the mainline pretty often and it was right across the street from my house. Not to mention Amtrak and it's commuter trains to Chicago.

I moved back to California to look after my both ailing mother and grandmother. Family comes first! But I'm happy to be back. Although freight traffic on the coastal route here has dropped dramatically since the days when Southern Pacific owned it. UP seems to route most north-south trains through the central valley and not that often along the coast. We see far more Amtrak and Surfliner trains then freight here.
