US-KRS-Container Pack installation

Unread postby scl » Mon Sep 24, 2012 3:58 pm

Hi

I've just managed to add the fantastic wagons sounds to the freight rolling stock for Sherman Hill, and I'd like to replace the vanilla skins for the re-skin pack in the title. Has anyone managed to do this yet? The pack as it stands has an installer (rpk) for the old Railworks, but I'm not sure of the route the installer needs to get them into the SH folder for TS2013, or where to copy them manually. I would be grateful for any pointers please.

How did you get the wagon sounds in the SH freight car files? And yes, the US-KRS asset is a must have. !!*ok*!!

It's just a matter of copying all the audio files from the unzipped wagons folder to (if your Railworks folder is on drive C):

C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/railworks/Assets/RSC/ShermanHill/Audio/RailVehicles/Wagons

Of course you'll also need to copy the 3 files from the Volume Changes for whichever volume level you want into the same folder as above.

I agree, these sound files are an absolute must have, and the container textures are the icing on the cake !!*ok*!!

Ahhh I wasn't aware of that - it seemed to work ok on SH including the hopper cars, but I could be mistaken because I've only listened to stuff in some scenarios so far. Apologies !*don-know!*

Ok got an update for the sounds at least. As pointed out there were a few cars (gondola, new boxcar and BNSF covered hopper) that didn't work with the Wagon sounds pack, but I've got that sorted out.

To convert the sounds, go to
Assets/RSC/ShermanHill/Audio/RailVehicles/Wagons
Back up these original files
Wagon Cement.proxyxml
Wagon Coal.proxyxml
Wagon Freight.proxyxml
and replace with the replacement Wagon Sound Pack versions

The gondola and new boxcar use a Wagon Generic.proxyxml sound file found in the same location as the other proxyxml files above.
Back up the original Wagon Generic.proxyxml
Copy Wagon Freight.proxyxml from above
rename as Wagon Generic.proxyxml

To convert the BNSF Covered Hopper, go to:
RSC/SD70Pack02/Audio/RailVehicles/Wagon, and you should find Wagon.proxyxml.
Back this file up.
Copy the Wagon Cement.proxyxml from the Wagons pack and rename it Wagon.proxyxml
Paste it to replace the original Wagon.proxyxml

Whatever you do make sure you back up your original files!

Look for the container skins in Railnetwork/interactive. In the route's asset folder structure. Thats where the default container skins went along with the bin files.
