Has anyone looked into making this child object usable on other rollingstock in the game. I'm not in tune with adding these kinds of things to rollingstock. Testing it however,it will work on any route with any locos RSC or 3rd party but it obviously has to have a SH car on the end of the consist it is activated by turning the loco headlight on then it appears out of thin air,..pretty cool. Would be a nice addition to have on other cars if someone could make it work.

The EOT device is part (node) of the car's shapefile and not a separate asset the user can place on any piece of rolling stock.
It is sort of an in-built child object but due to it being a node cannot be controlled like ordinary child objects.
It would be quite difficult to hack the same node into a different car when you don't have access to that particular car's 3D source model.
There is a loose EOT available from the RWA file store, but of course the auto"magic" one of Sherman Hill's new cars is much more desireable.

I was looking at the bin files to see how it was applied and could find no reference to it. So I open the GEO file and there it was. The EOTD is referenced from the model. Some of the Whiz Kids here may be able to use it like a child as they did with other lights, but I do not know for sure.

Well its pretty neat to know how it's accomplished I must have sat there and clicked the headlight button a dozen times watching it come on and go off. Its a nice touch to a pretty cool route.

Yes, it is a pretty cool effect. Many UK steam engines with oil lamps have the same magic, you click the headlight button and the oil lamps appear on the buffer beam. They have always been there, but were just invisible.
