NEC & RD

Unread postby miata54 » Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:10 am

I just bought this route in the special 4 route package on Steam. After Steam updated me to RW2013, I discovered my RD wouldn't work. I applied the "fix" changing the script in RD from "RailworksProc2" to "Railworks", re-calibrated and programmed my RD and it functioned just fine. In exploring my new routes, I selected the NEC and the electric loco from the "Spirit of Transportation" scenario. I toggled my RD to "Forward" and then released the brakes using the RD lever. Nothing happened. The F4 HUD showed no movement of the brake function. It stayed at 0 % whether I moved the RD lever or not. Same for the "Throttle" function. No movement using the RD throttle lever. Both throttle and brake would only respond to mouse command. I re-calibrated my RD but to no avail. Still no throttle or brake functions on the NEC electric loco. Went to Hagen to Siegen and here, the brake lever would not work. Throttle and Reverser worked OK. Just wondering if there are known issues with RD and any of the electric loco's in RW's? Diesels & Steam loco's I tested worked OK with the RD. If you have the NEC route and a Raildriver, would you let me know if your throttle, reverser and brake controls work on any electric loco.

Thanks

Could someone please take a minute who has the NEC route and also has a Raildriver, and check the Reverser, Throttle and Brake controls on the Raildriver with the AEM-7 locomotive. I'm just looking for clarification that the controls either work for you or they don't, under the Raildriver fix.

Thanks

Known issue... there is a mod fix for it, probably still working with TS2013.

Applied the mod using Package Manager, cleared the cache, but unfortunately, it did not work for me in RW2013. Still have a dark cab and no throttle or brake action on the Raildriver.

Ah forgot this detail, but it is in the Readme... Richard chose to make available the mod as a separate (independent) engine, instead of overwrite default engine. So you have to swap the default engine by the "EMD AEM-7 RD" (using RWTools) in order to use RD with the AEM-7. If you are creating a new scenario choose/select "EMD AEM-7 RD" as lead engine of your consist. However, as I mentioned before, I didn't try it with TS2013 yet.

Cheers,
Doc.

OK. I do have RW Tools but find it a bit daunting to use, so I manually went to the AEM 7 engine folder and did indeed find the AEM 7 RD file. I simply renamed the default file and removed the RD from the new file. It worked, partially however, as the Raildriver controls now worked but I did not see any improvement for lighting in the cab. However, I can live with that as at least I have Raildriver functionality now with the AEM 7.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
