Union Pacific Sponsorship?

Unread postby dcushing » Sat Sep 22, 2012 7:07 am

I could not help but notice on one of the new start up screens that the Union Pacific Crest is displayed along with Kuju and a couple of others, and started wondering if this will mean we will soon see more UP locomotives and rolling stock and/or routes. There are still several high horsepower engines (AC4400, AC6000, SD90) that have made multipul appearences on Sherman Hill. Then of course there's the Heritage Fleet based in Cheyenne. And maybe, just maybe they will get the directional running correct for tracks 1 and 3.

The up crest has always been on the startup screen ever since the rail simulator days.

We can only hope for this to happen. I don't think Uncle Pete uses this sim as a marketing vehicle, the rights to the name have probably been bought by Kuju or are even older. Nobody in UP headquarters will probably remember they once endorsed a train simulator.

We could think UP wanting to boost its presence and/or image by endorsing quality DLCL, like new models of the steam heritage fleet (FEF4, Challenger, Big Boy and Overland (?), a Big Blow (turbine of some sort) and other iconic engines from its past. That would be nice, wouldn't it? Who can persuade some UP brass out in Omaha?
