Emergency Brake Applications in RW2013

Unread postby gasman222 » Fri Sep 21, 2012 8:42 am

I was just running Sherman Hill and NEC on the 2013 Railsimulator. Sherman Hill is gorgeous, but I kept getting emergency brake applications, about every 5 minutes. I tried using the Q key for the alerter and this continued. I also tried the NEC and again got a couple of emergency applications. I looked at all the manuals and didn't see anything about this. Anyone else having problems with this, or can you tell me what I am missing/doing wrong. I ran some brit routes last night and didn't have any problems with this.

I had the same problem on Sherman but not to the extreme that you have. I was "helicoptering" around the gorgeous and wonderful sounding new ES44's when I noticed my train suddenly coming to a stop. Jumped back in the cab and the emergency brake had been applied. It didn't happen before or since so I chalked it up to just a random glitch. If it happens again I'll submit a support ticket and you should as well as it makes the game virtually unplayable if it happens every 5 minutes.

Maybe it could help:

There is a safe feature which applies the brakes if you run overspeed, make sure you have this feature disabled in the game options section.

Good luck.

That is exactly what I had done, I thought this was just a brake application to help slow you down. Nope, it is a full emergency brake application. I unchecked the box and everything works as it should. I guess this means I am speeding too much! I'm enjoying the new sim, a bit of a learning curve, but it appears to be a worthwhile update!
