Reversing points. what are they and what do they do?

I'm running a scenario on the Rascal and Cottenwood route (switching in TC if I remember right) and some times I get a message that says I'm approaching a reversing point. And when I look at the 2d MAP there is one there.

As usual I've tried to look up reversing points with no luck. So my question is what are reversing points and what do they do?

thanks for any help you can give me.
Dave

You go to it and change direction and continue on with the scenario. It is used to redirect you somewhere else but going in the opposite direction.

The reversing point on that route is to keep you from going off path and if you go off path for more than 30 seconds you will fail the scenario. You use it in the scenario editor timetable view you check the box that says handle off path in the instruction. But it is like Atrimrj said to let you know you need to change directions
