This confused me also. I assume you 'serzed' the blueprint from a .bin file. It turns out the blueprint files generated by serz are not readable in Blueprint Editor. They are in a format that you can edit with a text editor, but not in proper .xml format for the Blueprint editor.

So the process for changes is to serze a .bin to a .xml. Edit with an editor ( like notepad ). And then serze it back to the .bin file.

Doesn't RW_Tools have an option to edit those?

Yes, you can edit blueprint files (.bin files) with RW_Tools or you can associate your .bin files and .xml with the serz.exe program. Nothing against Mikes excellent program, but I've chosen the later approach. Once you have the bin and xml file extensions associated with the serz.exe program, which is found in the ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks folder, you simple double click on the bin file and serz.exe will create a new file using the same file name but with a .xml file extension. You can then use any text editor to edit the file, but I prefer ConText Programmer's Editor (http://www.contexteditor.org/downloads/) Once you are done editing the file, simple double click on the xml file and serz.exe will create a new bin file.

I like ConText Editor also... but is it just double click the bin or xml? Don't we have to drag serz over the bin or xml? !**conf**! Or at least associate the extension to be run by serz.exe? Explain the "how to", please...

Hi Machinist,
It depends on which version of windows you are using? I believe these are the instructions for Windows 7

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-which-programs-Windows-uses-by-default

and Windows XP

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859

Hope these help?
