eesh, we're talking serious change here. I wonder what is this going to do for developers who's source folder may not match the new asset folder structure. and not to mention any aliased files in the blueprints of countless created models, and routes. if they are re-structuring folder structures I have to imagine its going to throw off the path to desired parts that models, routes, and scenarios call on.

thats going to be alot of work repathing aliased assets. !*hp*!

I wonder exactly the same and I have no good feelings about all this. !*hp*!

This is the only thing they have to say:

All this content should be unaffected by Service Pack 1. However, if you have purchased third party products that directly update TS2012 files (which we strongly discourage), these products may not operate or may need to be re-installed.

Not satisfying for me. More information, please!

If they do change the file structure I at least hope they tell us how it's set up and how to fix it.

Also, there might be a way to simply edit the structure without having to redo the asset. I would think that you could change the structure if needed in the assets tab, but you would still have to upload a fix to that.

But first, they would have to tell us how to set up our folders.

That sounds like the update will affect any third party files that intentionally alter the default RW files. It doesn't sound like it will affect third party work that is stand alone and does not alter RW files.

Pretty much the same thing that happens now when a third party file alters default RW files and get changed every time you verify the game cache.

I could be wrong here, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Oh, boy. Well, we wanted this kind of core update, so we'll have to just wait and see how much stuff it breaks. !*don-know!*

!*roll-laugh*! Thanks God they won't, *!!wink!!* so far was announced changes only on (sic) \content* folder (well, at least they warned to back \Content folder up) !!det!! once they are installing the "content elements" and updating the "core content elements".

*BTW the correct name of folder is Content (first letter uppercase), doesn't RSC know that yet? !*roll-laugh*!

It sounds like they are fixing some things that were causing some bottlenecks. But it sure would be nice to have some details.

If you go to the facebook page and scroll down I asked the question "please clairfy" What exactly will happen. What I feel is going on is that RSC is now going back and tweeking the game engine and slowly going into the file structure and updating their files as needed to comply with the changes they made to the .exe or game engine.
Now what effects will have on us, I have no clue. I will keep my fingers crossed, hopeing for the best and perpairing for the worst. *!rolleyes!*

The thing I am most concerned about is Mike Simpsons Tools. Without that working, RW life would hardly be worth thinking about. *!sad!*
