I have a problem with my acela amtrak express it seems i cant use the acela power car in free roam
it would really help

There is no reason why this won't work. What happens when you put it in game?

I agree, but better be carefull when advising other people how to write their posts. I had to experience myself that this is not well received.

Sorry, gonna stand my ground on this one CAPS is viewed as yelling. And Mr "simpsonfan" should have read that tutorial, not me. You post like that on my website, I'll boot you. Gone in 60 seconds.

ok, I know the OP probably knows these already, but i'm gonna run through the way to get the acela working in a scenario..

1.load your scenario.
2. press escape and load the world editor.
3. In the top right of the top box is a little engine front profile icon in kind of an orange color. click on it. UIf nothing happens, look at the bottom right of the window/screen and see if the little lock is closed. If it is, click on it to open it, then go back and click on the train icon. When the warning sign appears click yes and continue to the scenario editor.
4. once your in the scenario editor you'll see a large blue cube on the left of the center pullout menu and directly below it, a lil bitty blue cube. Click on the lil bitty blue cube and move yoyur mouse to the top right of the screen where you'll find another fly out menu.
5 Click on the down arrow in the right hand pullout, and scroll down till you see RSC. Then click on that.
6. Scroll down through the RSC assets till you find anything that says "acela" in it. to the right will be two empty boxes. Click on the first and check marks should appear in both boxes.
7. Back on the left side of the screen, in the middle flyout, click on the white engine icon and scroll down through the menu below till you see Acela Power car. Highlight that and place your lead car on the track of your choice.
8. Next, click on the orange rolling stock icon next to the engine icon. This brings up your cars.. Scroll down till you see Acela First car. Click on that and place it..
9. Continue building your train and have fun..

Does the same problem occur for all scenarios, or just one or some?

Some things you might try;

* Have your Steam-Client and the RailWorks executables are set to run with Admin level Privileges with Windows.

* Have permissions set with any firewall to allow Steam-Client and RailWorks.

* Have your Drivers for Graphics & Sound, DirectX, PhysX, NET Framework and Windows all up-to-date. Sometimes a driver or Windows component can become corrupt and may need to be re-installed / repaired.

* Do a full scan of your computer for any viruses / malware that could be lurking.

* Close any unnecessary programs before launching RailWorks.

* If the problems still persist, you might consider trying to contact official RailWorks Support;

Little different issue with the caps lock problem. That's been a forum standard for years. That can be avoided by everyone. Spelling, punctuation, etc. may not always be easy for folks.

Thennn, i'm going to make apologies now before i upset anyone. I have advanced chronic emphysema, and sometimes, it has some very stroke like side effects. I will know what i "think" i'm writing, but my fingers wont respond correctly and they may be writing something else entirely. This usually means that the caps lock igets hit accidently when i'm trying to type an "a" and i wont catch it till after i've written a sentence or two. So, i'm sorry, but that will happen from time to time. Its never meant as yelling though. I hope you all can trust me on that..

You do know you can preview a post before you actually post it, don't you?
Just click on the 'Preview' button right next to the 'Submit' button. That will show you what the post looks like. You can then make any changes/corrections you want, or not. It's up to you, but that is an option.

Yeahhh, Its a standard part of every post for me ( youd be surprised just how bad I type ), but during those episodes, Well, I always do my best. Hope you know that. Still, I apologize for any caps i may use without knowing in the future.'
