Hyper elevation on curves???

Can anyone help me out here?? Every time i go around a curve, regardless of how slow or fast, the sim derails me because of car tilt. I know if i run maybe 8 or 9 cars i'll probably not have a problem, but, i like the challenge of 60 to 100 cars behind me, and so, i've got to put up with this problem.. Is there any way around it? Can it be turned off?? Its quite frustrating..
Thanks
Pam

He he he, welcome to the new world of Railworks and it's crap physics.

Are you using dynamics at all? Or loco brakes? You have to brake the consist before you use automatics or dynamics. Even then you can get a "end of scenario due to consist tilt" Watch your speed. I know how much a hot rod you are, Pam. !*roll-laugh*! !!*ok*!!

:::LOL:: Usually your correct. But i've also gotten that message sitting dead stock still in a yard when i selected a train that had one car sitting on a curve. Couldnt even start the scenario. Had to edit it and remove several cars before i could do anything. The other curve i'm only doing 5 mph on going uphill and it happens while the engines are still on the curve.. As you know, i dont know much about railworks or railroading ( spent the last few years learning aerodynamics ) so, i'm at a loss here. Its a bit frustrating..

What route are you having this problem with?

P.S. I think the word you are looking for is Super Elevation *!lol!*

Hi Pam,

I'm quite sure your problem is not exactly due to the "curve", but the couplers stretching in the air in long consists instead, which makes your consist go forth and back like a bungee-jump cord causing derailments even at low speed.

This explains a lot:

Its the high desert route. The one ive been working on, on and off for the last two and a half years.. Worked fine till rw3..
Nahhhh, super elevation is the slant in a curve to allow a train to take it at higher speed.. Hyper elevation is when the car gets flipped off the track while standing completely still, before you even get a chance to wreck it yourself ::lol::...

That begins to make sense. is there any fix for it ( besides really short kiddie trains )??

You should show Pam your handy batch file.

That helped quite a bit.. Its still tilting but that may be because of the extra engine in the middle and the one at the end.

RIght now.... *!!wink!!*

@Pam, give a look into this... I didn't advance yet with new tips and tricks because Dante is developing a GUI based on same functionality I used on my single feature, and for now I'm waiting what is coming up...

very very cool.. Thank you :) :) .I think theres something else going on with that route of mine.. Even with the new knuckles, it derailed on a 35 mph curve at 16 mph.. But too, i was using V1 of the dd-40X.. I'll keep testing with other engines to see what happens.. Still have a bad feeling i'm just gonna have to chuck the route in the trash...

Don't be so quick to can the route. Is this happening with all types of rolling stock or just one?
