Hi,

If you convert Dav to Wav files in the loco audio folder can you then hear what a particular Wav file sounds like using say , Windows Media Player like you can in the Flight Sim sound folder or is it harder than that,

Thanks for any help,

Roger.

Hi,

Thats great, if i found a Dav/Wav file that i wanted to delete would i have to change anything else in the audio folder or just take it out and if i went online would Steam replace it again,

Sorry i should have asked that before :D

Cheers,

Roger.

If you delete or rename a dav file you wont hear that sound when in game, just that as far as I know.

Steam doesn't replace files unless you use the famous option to "Verify integrity of game cache" or RSC has provided an update for the asset.

RSC asset/content's sounds come always in dav format, other distributors/creators' assets may come both in dav or wav.

Just In case you also forgot to ask *!twisted!* on http://www.uktrainsim.com/ forum you can find a DAV Converter tool (dav to wav and vice-versa).

Cheers,
Doc.

Hi Doc,

Thanks very much for your quick reply,

It looks like i will have to cough up some pennies again over at UKTS as my sub has run out and i did not think i would need anything more from them :D

All i am really trying to do is change the sound of the RSC DB101 eletric loco as to me when in the cab its a horrible noise!! drives you "nuts" after a while *!lol!* and i thought if i could find the Wav file with the noise i could delete it, i have looked at Serz to open the Bin files but its all above me at the moment and i think i would be better leaving it alone before i cause myself a load of problems,

Cheers,

Roger.
