Route idea..Edaville Railroad

Hey guys! I have a idea for a new add on for Railworks 3, Edaville Railroad! I cant make anything but im thinking that if i had a few people that can make routes and trains and stuff then i can help plan it with maps, pictures, and videos. Heres a historical background: P.S. Edaville USA runs a narrow gauge line. They use some steam, and a few diesels. I think it would be fun to build and give players a narrow gauge experience with the thought of giving a tour and a train ride for locals and tourists.

Ellis D. Atwood gave this historic amusement park its name, his initials (E.D.A). He started this railroad by purchasing most of the surviving equipment from Maine’s once expansive network of two-foot gauge rail’s and had them trucked south to Carver, Massachusetts. This was the making of Edaville Railroad.

In Maine, these two-foot gauge rails covered several sections of the state starting in the late 1800’s. These short line railroads fell prey to the depression and competition from automobiles. With the railroads shutting down, Ellis D. Atwood began purchasing the remaining rails in 1946 and 1947 and had it trucked to cranberry bogs of Carver, Mass.

Atwood had a plan, he built a railroad 5 ½ miles long around his 1,800 acre plantation of cranberries. He used the trains to service his bogs as well as hauling paying customers through the plantation for sightseeing. This operation evolved into a “Family Fun Park”; with an emphasis on carnival type rides, bright lights and extravagant Christmas displays. Edaville Railroad became a local institution, and drew visitors from far and wide.

Now...

Owned and operated by Brenda Johnson and Robert Julian since 2003, Edaville USA has undergone many exciting changed of the years, including the reconfiguration of the entire rail course and the incorporation of vintage amusement rides such as an antique carousel and an illuminated Ferris Wheel. Other attractions throughout the year include, “Day Out With Thomas™” a family event centered around the Thomas the Tank Engine™ classic storybooks; the National Cranberry Festival, which features a train ride through the fall cranberry harvest; and the Christmas Festival of Lights offering rides through brilliantly lit displays in the winter.

They have tried to shut it down multiple times but it still keeps running today! The steam is not everyday and i have never been on it but it still seems cool and would be fun to drive in the game

Yes, the Edaville Railroad is a living example of the Maine Two Footers and there are a few others as well, but instead of creating the Edaville which is pretty much just a circle, more like an amusement park ride, why not recreate one of the biggest Maine Two Footers for RailWorks, the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad? There is a SR&RL historical Sociaty (http://www.srrl-rr.org/) that could provide you with historical data, such as station locations, passing sidings, industries and such. Here is a preview of the video they have available for sale http://youtu.be/bGEP289spD0

In my opinion the Maine Two Footers are just as interesting as the East Broad Top or the Colorado Three Footers and it would be nice to see one of the Maine Slim gauge lines represented in Rail Works.

Regards,
Rich S.

P.S. The railbus seen at 1:27 is kind of like the Maine Two Footer version of the RGS Galloping Goose !!*ok*!!
Cheers,
Rich S.

East Broad Top and Sandy Lake....those would be two way-cool routes!

Wish I had the skillset (and time) to do them.
