I noticed a new advertiser here at RWA and decided to give them a try.

I just finished the first 3 sceanrios from this pack (Hauling Heavy Freight on The Dover Massillon Sub) from the Railworks Scenario Shop.

http://railworks3scenarios.com/

If you have Ohio Steel2, I urge you to give this pack a try. The scenarios are very well done and provide an interesting "shift". From running the entire route to switching at Massillon, you won't be disappointed. The pack includes a version using the Dash-9 DLC and a version using a default engine. There is some other freeware needed, but the readme contains a list with links to the addtional assets.

Customer support has been second to none.

If you enjoy the scenarios from Smitty's, RRyards, FooteForward and Trains and Drivers, the Railworks Scenario Shop is a welcome addtion to the US route, scenario builders club. !!*ok*!!

So - some folks to look at the advertisers section of the site. *!greengrin!*
I was wondering if it was worth it for the advertisers.

I always check out the advertisers. At least once a week and when I notice a change to an advertisement. **!!2cents!!**

I also check it very frequently and have abused my credit card because of it.

Caveat emptor!!! This pack of scenarios requires 9 downloads that are not mentioned on the website. They are all freeware items, but two of them come from Digirails and must be downloaded through a site called Jumbofiles which, in turn, requires a downloading program called "iliVid" -- that crashes due to a "message" from Jumbofiles without downloading anything! How did those who are praising this scenario set acquire those two downloads (from Jesse James, naturally)?

You can download the stuff from Jumbofiles without downloading iliVid. There is a direct download link to each file on the page but you have to look for it as it tends to be quite small compeared to all the junk they want you to download.

I always look at the advert section, been a big supporter of all of them. may have to try this new one soon as I get a payday. download troubles are nothing new to RW. I have probably bought or have all that stuff anyways. RW folder is really getting huge. !*hp*!

I must have had everything except the Furx engine that was listed. It's the only missing asset I had.

Thank you! After several mis-clicks that sent me all kinds of places, I found that miniscule "download" button you mentioned. Whew!

I finally managed to download and install all of the rolling stock listed in the read-me file as needed to run these scenarios (but not mentioned anywhere on their website!) and ran the first scenario without problems. Then I tried scenario 2 and -- BAM! -- it failed to open due to missing assets, namely, "Boxcar 50ft-PSI dbl-door". Swapping in another boxcar with RW_Tools didn't take long, but certainly elevated the level of my aggravation with this seller. I know that lots of Railworks players are also rolling stock accumulators, as I used to be in the RS days, but since I switched to a new computer, I'm trying to stay on a rolling stock diet, so surprises like this one don't appeal to me, especially when concealed until after purchase.

The two scenarios I've played so far (of 5) are quite good -- once one gets past the unadvertised but required downloads. They basically consist of long runs, but there's a lot of AI traffic and some of it interacts with the player train, adding interest to what would otherwise be just another sightseeing trip. I'll probably be interested in future packs from this supplier, but only after inquiring about the required extras.

I guess Ohio Steel (which has moved up and down my DLC wishlist frequently over the last few months) will now have to go to the top of the list! :)
