You mean just the lights on the arms right?

I don't think the arms are designed to blink. That would have to be a modification.

They are designed to blink, the outermost one stays lit, the inner 2 flash like the other lights. (left-right pattern)
As to answer the original question, the newer script SMM gates (the ones that stop traffic) use the RSC gate script, thus the improper timing of the lights flashing and lack of flashing gate lights. If you're OCD about realism like me, and don't need traffic on a small road, use the old script gates, they have flashing gate lights. I can't stand to have improper crossing gates.

I am not OCD and none of my scenarios show blinking lights. Good luck with your endevor. Maybe Jerry will chime in here.

I am OCD and none of my scenarios show blinking lights. Would be cool if you succeed in fixing them.

well i got a bunch of my gates done. from victorville to san bernadino. but when it came to the two crossings by sanbernadino. i think i messed it up. cause i had traffic on one side stop but not the other. and once the train had passed the traffic was still sitting there. i have to go back to free roam and see where i went wrong?

it's hard work to be OCD about details. i even have the number of tracks on the poles that the lights are one. if i upload a picture of the crossing im haveing trouble with you guys can help?

Sounds like a classic case of crossed up links. Check to be sure that both of your road crossing links are pointing in towards the track . If both links are pointed in the same direction, one towards the track and the other away, then when the train comes, the traffic will appear to run through the gate and then stop on the other side. It may or may not go again after the train passed.
As far as OCD goes, i'm not that, but I am pretty anal about stuff being as close to prototype as possible. But even Xanax and Zoloft are no match for the limitations that are built into Railworks. For the forseeable future, the crossing gates will not, and possibly cannot, be changed. I may though take another look at them in the Fall, after the Locomotive Tutorial is finished.

Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but basically you
1: Place the crossing
2: Click on each track as close to centered on the road as poss
3: RIGHT click to release from the track ones then click on the road each side of the crossing
4: To change the direction of the arrow that facing away from the track hold SHIFT and click on it.
Something like that. I do it without thinking about these days.
Aslong as both the traffic stoppers are pointing toward the crossing, both sides of traffic will stop.

Are you having trouble changing the direction of the road markers?
