Screen Resolution and Railworks Settings

Unread postby mojo12012 » Mon Apr 16, 2012 3:29 pm

"Currently, the max refresh rate is written in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\config.xml."
I came across this post where someone wanted an option for changing the display settings in game. I checked out said file in my own Steam installation to find that neither the refresh rate or the screen resolution, nor the display setting match what is actually set for my LED monitor. I understand that if I change it then Steam will overwrite it if I verify cache etc. Does the disparity between the Steam setting and my actual setting cause issues? Like most, I'm looking to eke out any performance improvement. I could just change the settings and see, but before I dive in I wondered if anyone else had looked at this before?

I'm not sure why anyone would need to change any Steam files to set the res for RW. I just use the Settings tab on the launch screen for the game. Once that is set, it stays, even after a file verification. I have mine set at 1920x1080 and it doesn't change unless I change it. Unless you may have a non standard custom resolution? Refresh rate should be the standard 60Hz, 50Hz for overseas maybe. That one I'm not sure how to change.

To change the screen size to match your LCD:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2700&p=23899&hilit=HxD#p23900

I have set the 1024x768 (4:3) to 1024x576 in order to play windowed in 16:9 format (only when working, not when just playing).

BTW I just noticed (because my 1024x576 was modified back to 1024x768) that a new version is on my machine: 11.7b **!!bang!!**
