Hi PapaXpress, The original poster did not specify, but I'm wondering, will electric engines run on non electrified routes?

Ah. You got me there. Electrics slipped my mind! In that case you would indeed need a route that was electrified.

Greetings,
First of all please forgive my ignorance, I am trying to place some of the loco's i have downloaded but am unable to. Let me explain: I want to place a loco (say the challenger) on the Test Trak (for instance). When I enter the world editor the only locos I can place are the UK ones. How do I include any of the other locos in that list? Or am I attacking this one the wrong way? I have tried to place the challenger in the Donner pass rail yards. Same problem (no challenger in the list).

In advance thank you for your help. I am new to both Railworks and the railroad world. Just looking to learn and have fun

@Brian: You'll probably have first to enable it via the Object Set Filter list, and check the boxes of the correct Developer folder before it will appear as a loco or rolling stock that you can add to your scenario.

For the Challenger, it should be in the Developer folder for "IHH", then check the boxes there for "US RailRoads".
The challenger-loco comes in 3 parts (Front, Engine and Tender), so is a little different than other most other Steam-locos for RailWorks in that regards.

For an old tutorial-video I made of me placing a Challenger loco on a freeroam scenario, see my site here:
http://www.rryard.com/videos.html
And towards the bottom you'll see a video, "How to add 'The Challenger' to a Scenario".

By default I think it's the UK locos and stock that are available to choose from when making a new scenario.
To see the list of default US stuff that comes with RailWorks, find the Kuju folder and RailSimulatorUS boxes there.

For a trainset addon you get, check the ReadMe or Docs that might come with it, and it may also give info about what is the correct Developer folder to have checked for it.

I thought you could actually use a loco of the wrong gauge for the track, but it just looks rubbish if you do. Might be wrong though - may check it out later.
