Does anyone know something about this route ?

Is this abandonware or is it available / are they still working on it ?

Doesn't look like there's currently much there really, a fairly bare looking site for content or info.
I suppose you could always try to contact the owner and see if they reply:

I got a reply:

. . . . . . . I'm actually releasing a 6 scenario pack for Ohio Steel 2 - Dover Massillon in a few days. I will be finishing the NEC scenarios later in the month, so hopefully they'll be released shortly; I just need to get some AI pathing errors tidied up. I apologize for the unfinished state of the website, it should be finished up in about a day with some freeware scenarios on it for you to access. Please check the Railworks America site, as I'll be running some ads and updates there as well. . . . . . .

Hello, I apologize for the barren site.....I've been trying to get it up and running. There is some content now, and as mentioned there will be some new stuff in the coming days. Stay tuned.....

Hi Dan,

I noticed the "Amtrak Series – The Cardinal" page has disappeared. Does this mean that project has been cancelled ?

Hey, it's actually Matt. Dan's my nom de plume. 4man Dan Hernandez is that guy that keeps saying his name over and over and over again in the cab of your engine ;) No, it hasn't been cancelled so much as put on hold. As I was saying to the other gentleman who emailed me, I would like to release it later this month or early next month but I was put off for two reasons. First, I felt that to make it more prototypical, it should have some prototypical timetabling - so I'd like to research that first. Secondly, I would like to try my hand at repainting some of the Class 101's and 166's for SEPTA and PATH trains. I know someone else has already done the AEM in SEPTA livery, but a busy route like that should, well, look busy :). And lastly, I think it would be a nicer package if it included more than just the Cardinal, but a bunch of different Amtrak services all in one. Also, the fact that running a ton of AI on the NEC just slows everything down to a crawl even on my fairly busty system. I've been working on two other projects, one of them mainly switching puzzles and the other focusing on loooooooooong trains where the player is in control of the end units or middle section of a distributed power hook up. Just working out some bugs right now.

M.
