HDR Install?

The link I dug up on google to railsimdepot.com/HDR is dead, and I wanted to grab the HDR plugin. Also, searching RWA forums for HDR brings up someone talking about it, but they don't give a link. Does anybody have a copy of it?

Thanks! *!greengrin!*

Someone replied to my thread over at t-s and attached it there. Here is it in case anyone would like it:

"d3d9.dll" is placed in railworks/plugins and "enbseries.ini" goes in railworks.

What is this for?
Should I add it to the File Library here? Would I have the right to?

Thank you for asking, because I forgot to note a few details from earlier. Once you install it, while in the game, press Shift+F12 to enable the effect. It basically adds several different effects to the game such as bloom and blurring. I will post a few screenshots tomorrow as an example.

The guy who created it was boris vorontsov and it was designed for GTA San Andreas. It turns out that it worked in a bunch of other games (because its based in DirectX), so many communities have been distributing it in various places for each of their own games. Whether you have the right to upload it to the file library, I can't say for sure, my apologies. *!embar*! I don't believe it's a problem based on how many other places are distributing it (but of course that's not always the best way to measure). It used to be distributed by RailSimDepot but they are closed down now.

Some people don't like the effect when enabled, but keep in mind that tweaking the "enbseries" file (it is easily editable as a text file with somewhat obvious variables) can change the strength of the effect.

Edit: I should also note that it's pretty GPU intensive, so depending on your graphics card, the framerate hit may be too much to use. Currently at my settings, this drops me from ~160FPS to ~60FPS.

Thanks for the info. I believe I'll hold off adding it to the File Library here.
Instead I'll sticky this thread.

Edit 1: Much as I hate going to the TS forums, I found the thread talking about HDR. I also read the thread over at UKTrainSim.
This HDR effect is definitely a matter of choice. From the screen-shots I saw I don't care for the effects.

Completely understood. !*salute*! There are definitely some moments when it seems like too much. However, I haven't confirmed yet but I believe that spec5sx's screenshots of his UP Cascades Sub route has HDR turned on it and I definitely think his screenshots look amazing. I could be wrong of course.

You are correct. I have it turned on most of the time. I find the colors in Railworks to be a little flat. I like HDR because it enhances the color. I do however take a frame rate hit when it's running. At least 15 per second.

I agree on flatness and that's exactly the reason I was hoping to find the plugin, so I'm happy. Again, I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea. Can't wait to run your route in HDR glory. *!greengrin!*

Hi all!
I added these two files in the proper location, yet when I press SHIFT + F12, nothing happens. Does it help that I'm using a laptop computer?

If I find some time, I will look at this problem closer.
I'm also using a laptop computer. However, I don't think this is a real problem.

I belive the last major update for Railworks broke HDR. It hasn't worked on my setup since then, eventhough it's installed properly and still is.

Same here. I've used several versions of the DLL and scripts, but so far none of the HDR features are accessible in RW since February.

You need to place the two HDR files in the main railworks directory, it works for me with railworks 114.1b. Can anyone post his enbseries.ini settings? I can't find the right ones!
