Hi All,
Time for another newby question . . .
What is the difference in setting the graphics option in these different screens.
Pre Game Screen

In Game Screen
In-Game-Screen.jpg
Is one screen master and one slave, or is one simply ignored, or . . . ?

As I see it, the first screen sets the screen size and type as well as default resolution settings.
The in-game screen can adjust and override the detail settings that had been set by the first
screen although the screen size and type can't be changed.

First one is video hardware and driver settings. You can also set these in your video card's control panel.
This is application-independent.
Second one is software settings. They control what the game sends to the video card.
This is hardware-independent.

Thank both of you guys !

Application independent ? Does that mean these settings also effect other stuff than Trainsimulator 2012 ?

No that's not what I mean, but it could mean that.
What I mean is they get applied by the video driver and are not tied to any specific application.

Ok, thanks.
Does this mean that after exiting railworks completely the settings applied to the driver do not return to what they where before and will have an impact on all other programs I run ?

No idea.
It might be a moot point since most games will apply their own settings anyway when launched.

The settings in RW are just for itself. I have not seen it impact another application I have run with it.

I've had good results with both RW setting screens on High (no custom stuff) and in the Nvidia controls, I have it set on "let application decide" (or application controlled or whatever the heck it is) If I mess with the video card driver settings, I goof it up every time. Defaults work best.
