I just fully tested this and it seems to has nothing to do with caches nor TSX, looks like something that DIck has not predicted.
In my scenarios I use to ask players to decouple manually, so if someone is using Britkits buckeyes my scenarios won't work as I planned, and desired. I hope DIck fixes it, otherwise I'll have to warn scenarios users about the issue.

The ability to play brakeman in free camera is important to me for immersion (immersiveness? immersivity?).
To be honest I haven't noticed much difference between the two couplers, apart from the hose animation.
